I don't mean to discourage you. I'm one of those people that thinks that there is no moderate, only value and deluxe and super deluxe.

For me, sleeping in the same bed as my wife, a double bed does not make a moderate experience. It must be a queen size bed. Moderates have doubles.

The theming of the moderates are nice, but don't transform me, in the way the deluxes do, or even the values do.

The prices of the moderates are not as enticing to me as the lower-priced deluxes.

My advice is simple, stay at a standard-view Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge room. You'll be happier there.

If I had to pick a moderate, I'd flip a coin.

Is this for your Disneymoon?? I would suggest Coronado Springs for an upgarde!! We have stayed here twice and we really liked it. We are deluxe snobs but if we had to downgrade to a moderate in order to go this would be our choice. We are not fans of the POFS only because we had issues with management the last time we stayed...but the resort itself is very small and quite. The boat ride to Downtown Disney is alone almost worth staying here. Good luck!!!

Just think whats more important to you? Theme, location, bed size?

Frankly, sleeping in a double bed with my wife is certainly alright with me! :D

If you need a bigger bed, then I do belive Coronado has rooms with queens.

If its theming, then Coronado has a great southwestern theme; Caribbean Beach is of course the caribbean, and Port Orleans is, well, of course New Orleans themed.

Also, think about how much actual time you'll actually be spending in the room. If you'll be at the parks most of the time, why spend the extra money on a Deluxe room? Just saying.

The contemporary is not considered a moderate but is classified a deluxe. It is a nice place to stay and the location cannot be beat

We Disneymooned at CBR, and it was fantasic. we have stayed at all levels of resorts, and a moderate is a complete upgrade. Just the bussing alone makes a difference, not being cattled to one big place, mods have individual stops. Mods have a food court with TS restaurant. All mods have king size beds for $100 per stay, not night. Theming is way better, and gets even better at a deluxe, but the mods do a great job. Room size is bigger, refrigerators in the rooms, private pools, main pool with slides. This year for our anniversary, we are going back to CBR. Just do some research and find the mod that fits you best theming wise, and POFQ we hated two years ago, but it has been upgraded since then. CBR's pool bar is great, and open later than most others on property. Have fun, and congratulations!!!!

I'd recommend CSR! Besides having a great main pool area, CSR also offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price.

CSR has a fitness center, spa, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night club.

The rooms have queen beds and have been recently renovated, the rooms are very nice. The rooms also have a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room instead of a privacy curtain like the other mods.

CSR has the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). They offer separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great.

CSR has terrific transportation that is not shared with another resort.

Here's a vote for POFQ. The rooms were recently refurbished and now have queen beds and king beds are available for a little extra per night. It is a great moderate resort for adults. It's small and quiet and the grounds are beautiful. There is a boat to Downtown Disney. DH and I love this resort and we are staying there again in October.

I agree with Buzz2001 100% CSR is the best of the Moderates!

Before you make that upgrade consider these questions:
Are you into Carribean (CBR), Southern (POR&FQ), or Southwestern (CSR) style?
What activities are you and your fiance into? Do you like DTD, do you prefer a quieter more laid back atmosphere (POR&FQ)?
Would you prefer a more adult friendly resort with nightlife lots of dining options and a spa (CSR)?
Or do you want activity, a place filled with children and a more Disney feel (CBR)?

My family stayed at POR last summer and if we would return there other than the fact that we want to try something different. The only negatives we had about POR was how large and spread out it was and having to share busses with POFQ. We never had a problem getting on the buses because we were at the first Riverside stop (main stop at the lobby) But we did get tired of having to go to POFQ before heading to our resort at the end of a long day. I know it seems petty, but after a long hot day in the park any delay getting back to the room is a downer.

If we were going back to PO we would go with POFQ just due to the size and the bus situation, but having read the recent posts in this topic I am actually leaning toward CSR lol.

Port Orleans French Quarter!! Its just been refurbished , has queen and king beds. It is so relaxing there. The pool is great. Take to boat to Downtown Disney. Take the boat or walk to Riverside and ride the horse drawn carriage down the river, rent a bike, or rent a boat. Week-end evenings listen to the jazz music in the bar. Elliott is great!!! The food at the food court is good too. :sohappy:

You can't beat Caribbean Beach in my opinion! Great themeing, beautiful property with amazing beaches. Resort food court is fantastic, TS restaurant also rocks. And the shuttle service is great. I've never stayed anywhere else and never want to!

Coronado Springs is the best! its like your getting a deluxe resort for a moderate price. The rooms are great, all new rooms very nice and elegant, the rooms now have a fridge, ceiling fan, flat screen, and more. They resort pool is very nice with a waterslide and a pyramid that flows with water. We had no problems with anything. The bus service is good and doesn't take long. For food try the Myan grill which is found as very great food.Once you stay here you'll find it one of your favs.
