I need a trip schedule if anyone has one. I'll be visiting Disney World for ONE day and Animal Kingdom for ONE day. We've got a 3 year old princess and a 5 month old princess. We are planning on going to Disney on the 6th for the early morning hour and the AK on the 4th for the extra hours after closing. LMK if you've got an agenda already planned out. I'm sooo not good at this and with both of them at home I'm already feeling RUSHED to pack. We don't have ANY idea of what we're going to do there. We'll be staying at the FW campground so if you've got ideas for that, lmk too. Thanks!!

Let me get this straight, you'll be going to WDW for only 2 days and with 3 yr and 5 month old girls, and NOT going to MK??? If this is their first visit to the World, IMHO, I would go to the MK, it is the one park that is geared towards children the most. The Castle, princesses, all the fun attractions that kids love. Both of our sons, when we first started to go, were 2 1/2 and 4, we spent most of our time at MK and EPCOT only. AK had not opened and DMGM didn't seem the right time for them. But if AK is where you want to go, the best advice I can give is do not do a comando at the parks, you and the girls will have a not so great visit, and most of all, be spontaneous, if you want to go one place and see something else that they would like then go that way. We've found that if we follow that path everybody ends up having a great time, don't rush, take your time, and enjoy watching their faces as you truely enjoy them being so young, because after they grow older things change, and you wonder what happened to the little one's you first brought here. Oh and Welcome to the boards!

Oh no, We're going to MK for ONE day and the AK for ONE day. We'll be at FW camp from Nov. 2-8 DEF. taking the princess to the Castle!! LOL

I just don't know of a plan of what to do, not something I HAVE to follow but you know something that I can kinda use to get the most out of our 1 day there. We're able to go for the early morning to MK and the late hours at AK so we're taking advantage of those two things. Just need help on when/what to do while there. I'd like to see Finding Nemo for sure not sure about anything else though! lOL

Do you mind if I ask - if you're planning on being at FW for a week, why you're only going to those 2 parks, and each only for one day?

If you've got a schedule of lots of other non-Disney things to do, I can understand that. And if money's tight, I can understand that, too. Just curious.

The best advice I can give you is to not plan too much of a schedule in your situation - a 3 year old and an infant. You're not going to be a park commando this time. They're just going to need too much of your attention.

When at MK, take advantage of the early morning extra magic hour and hit Fantasyland (straight up and through - or around - the castle and behind it). Most of the rides a 3-year old can experience, and will want to experience, will be there, especially Dumbo which is a big deal for wee ones. Hit Dumbo, Teac Cups if your stomachs can stand it, and the traditional movie rides like Peter Pan & Pooh & snow White (a little scary for wee ones, be warned). Get a Fastpass for Philarmagic if you need to, then either go to Tomorrowland and ride Buzz Lightyear, OR go to Adventureland for the Jungle Cruise & the flying carpet ride (a spinning ride just like Dumbo, but with flying carpets and a "spitting" camel in the middle). I'd worry about recommending anything else without knowing what your 3-year old can handle.

As far ask AK goes, I'd suggest going at opening, BEFORE opening if you can. Since the EMH are at night, a lot of people will avoid going early, so the park might be as empty as the early morning EMH often are, except it'll get MUCH busier as the day progresses. Head straight for the Kilimanjaro Safari. Finding Nemo can get packed, so whatever the first show is, you're probably going to want to be on line for it at least 30 mins before the first show. So in-between Kilimanjaro Safaris & the first Nemo show, whatever time you have go through the walk-through animal exhibits, or the bird show. Other than that, again, without knowing what your kid can handle, I don't know if I'd recommend "It's Tough To be a Bug" and even if she could handle it, one of you will have to remain outside with the baby. It gets loud, people scream, it'll freak the infant out, more than likely.

Just take it nice and slow and understand your 3 year old could easily get overwhelmed, and prepare accordingly.

At Animal Kingdom I would definitely go to see the Festival of the Lion King. My children thought it was amazing. Finding Nemo muscial is also a great show. Animal Kingdom also has an Affection Station where children can pet animals. Always a fun thing to do that the whole family can enjoy!! Have fun!

Personally, I would skip AK with them that young - if you are not park "hopping". I would use both days in the MK. My DD was 3 in June. That was her 4th trip. When we go to AK, we spend maybe 3-4 hours there. She's not keen on sitting through the shows - so out goes Lion King, Nemo, and Bugs Life. We ride the safari, go to Rafiki's Planet Watch, and then head to Dino land and dig for bones, and ride on the flying dinosaur. That's it. The day at AK is done.

We spend 75% of our vacation in the MK. We have actually been on the Pooh ride 3 times in one day (make sure to get Fast Pass). We usually start out in Fantasyland. Cover the entire thing. DD loves It's a Small World too. Not sure if that was mentioned above. There is also "Pooh's 100 Acre Woods" which is a little playground for them to run around. We use it all the time - just to give the legs some stretching time from being in the carriage so much.

In Frontierland, there is the big boat - the name is escaping me at this time, but it is a slow steamboat ride around and it's relaxing and there are "stories" being told, which my DD tries to listen to. We have tried Country Bears a few times, but they scare her still. This year she will be tall enough to ride Splash Mountain, so we may try that.

Over in ADventureland, we ridge the Pirates, Jungle Cruise, the Alladin ride, and we sometimes succeed at the Tiki Bird show - but it's dark and full of bird animatronics, which could scare them.

Tomorrowland has Buzz Lightyear, the People Mover (it's called something else) which is up over the rides. It's a sit down, don't go fast, kind of relaxation ride. Nice for Mom and Dad to get off their feet. Down below, you will find the Speedway. My DD loves this - it's actually her highlight of Tomorrowland.

If Princesses are the thing, you don't want to miss the stage show at the Castle that runs at certain times during the day. The princesses all dance with their prince, and even Mickey asks Minnie for a dance!

There is a horse drawn trolley going down Main Street. Although simple in the minds of adults, every toddler I have ever been there with just stops and is blown away with the singers....I still haven't figured out why, but it's a must for me and friends of ours!

As you can see, my DD has taught me that the MK is the place I should be with her. Yes, I like some of the other rides and attractions at the other parks, but when you have a happy 3 year old, not crying and whining because they don't want to wait for something, it makes the trip worth while!

Enjoy!

Skip A Bug's life in AK with your 3 yr old. She will most likely get scared and especially with the special effects they have in there, I saw a teenager cry like a baby at the stinger and also the bugs leaving the room part.

Nemo is nice, we went to it with our then 7 month old, but he is 2 now and although loves Nemo, to make him have to sit in line and then to sit inside (no strollers allowed) there is no way, his attention would be gone within a few mins of the show starting. Lion King again he went to that at 7 months and loved the motion and stuff, but to have to make him sit for something that is not a cartoon, forget it.

We are going to Disney with our 2 yr old son and 1 yr old twin daughters in December and hitting MK -2 days and Disney Studios - 1 day. The Studios have Playhouse Disney and my son loves them. And it also have Toy Story Mania which he loves the show, he will probably like the ride. MK is a given with all the kids.

Your pace will be wayyyyyy slower than it was when it was just you and DH. Kids need naps so make sure to leave the parks and rest up, take a swim and just be ready for a slow pace.

have a blast

Thanks guys!! I'm def. working on trying to get another Day in at the MK. We REALLY want to do it's a Bugs life (we did it on our honeymoon and LOVED it!) I think the littlest princess will be okay because I'll be carrying her in the sling and PROBABLY nursing her during and sit down breaks. LOL So she'll be right close with momma! DD1 did it at Universal when we went into loud shows and was surprisingly NOT scared so crossing my fingers dd2 will be the same. :)

Thanks for the advice on the rides for MK. Has anyone heard of a place that you can wait in line to see the princesses? My cousin went this summer and said there was something that you could wait in line and get pictures and autographs with the princesses. I'd LOVE to do that if possible, but I don't know where or when it goes on. thanks girls!!

Now I've got to find a CHEAP place for tickets!!

You can meet the princesses in Toontown:
http://allears.net/tp/mk/hof.htm

Toontown opens at 10:00. If you want to avoid long lines, I'd suggest being at the entrance to Toontown a few minutes before 10:00, and then head straight to the line for the princess room. It is in the Toontown Hall of Fame, which is in the same place as the County Bounty gift shop.
If you want an even further jump start on the crowds, use the back entrance to Toontown (by the Toontown railroad station) because it is a little bit closer to the Toontown Hall of Fame than the main entrance that is in Fantasyland.

ITA w/ this. A Bug's Life is rather scary. We opted not to take our 3 and 6 y/o's to it because we didn't want to ruin the rest of our day at AK.
