Names/pictures engraved at Disney locations!?

Ok so I've only been to WDW twice, the past two summers. While down there with family I was shown these plaques, think at Epcot, where photos and names where engraved in walls with dates, etc. Also...I remember walking around somewhere else (off the monorail somewhere?) and seeing the sidewalk with stones that also had engravings with peoples comments, family names, dates, etc....

How can I found out more about this? Is there a term to describe this that I could be searching for online because I tried to search but I'm at a loss. I'm getting married in June and then we are going to WDW for our honeymoon. Would like to get this done for the Wife and I. Now I've heard it stays there for a specific amount of years and then get's removed, correct!? Would like to know all the locations this is done at and how to go about doing this so I can get some pricing and learn more about it. Thanks!

I believe that both the Leave a Legacy at Epcot and the bricks at Magic Kingdom have been discontinued. Which stinks because I've always wanted to get one! :(

The Magic Kingdom stones - `Walk Around the World` - are set in a path on the NW shore of Seven Seas Lagoon, from the monorail station to the service canal.

The Epcot tiles are `Leave a Legacy` and are on display - for now - in Epcots entrance plaza.

I`m not sure if either are still available. I`m sure someone will answer soon ;)

As PP's have said, Leave A Legacy has been closed. People keep speculating that they will remove/move the walls to another location as they never promised they would stay there.

The Walk Around The World is essentially done. Some people have said lately that they were able to purchase new stones, however it is not advertised, and the cost was something like 200 dollars which is at least twice what they had been.

Uh...caution to the OP...the Leave a Legacy tiles/walls are highly disliked by a lot of the WDW fans. They've been referred to as "tombstones" as often as they were referred to as LaL tiles. Some folks get down-right indignant about them. LOL! This is NOT a reflection of my opinion, however. My sons, my cousin & his wife, 2 of my aunts, and a "Kilroy" shout-out for my grampa are all on those walls (along with a few other cousins but I'm not sure how many). I love 'em! Every trip my boys will run to their tile, point to their face, and let me take a picture. It has become one of those spots we take pictures every trip which is fun when you see them growing up from year to year in the pics. :animwink:

Actually, Martin, the bricks at the MK spread farther than that. They cover the entrance plaza, extend over to the start of the bus stops, and also pave the path most of the walkway down to the Contemporary.

There are also WATW bricks at the TTC (where my family's brick is located) between the tram loading area and the ticket booths.

That's exactly why I wanted to do this. Would have been a great little something for the Wife who loves Disney!! To be able to go down there year after year and see us from when we got married! Or even for other family members, children, etc. to see, would have been great!

Thanks, Rob. Guess I was too busy videotaping the Monorail switch & T&TC signs :D

I`ve still got the leaflet with the art showing the WATW circling Seven Seas... another marketing idea gone flat...

When did they get discontinued?

When we were at Epcot there was plenty of spaces on the rocks for more, we were going to see if we could get one done but forgot :hammer:

Were they still doing them in August 07 though?

Leave a Legacy was discontinued in June of last year.

I hope I don't offend anyone here, but I think the Leave a Legacy walls are ugly. It would probably be cooler if we had actually put our picture up there, but we never did. I think they could do something much prettier/cooler with that space. I think first timers would think it was blah also. Esp. for the fact that they can't even get one done anymore. JMO

As was said it ended in June. As you said, there is plenty of space. There is a reason there is plenty of space. It was not selling too well.

Having said that, my kids faces are up there :D
