Ok so I was reading a thread about Prince Charmings Regal Carousel, And someone said something about how no one really calls it that, just "The Carousel" . And so it got me thinking, and I appologize if this has been brought up before.
I know we always call the Carrousel just that, even before the name change...which just don't like, just does'nt fit!....
What name references do you refer to in Disney world...I know for starters SSR, we say "the Room". oh you wanna go back to "the Room " or" Oh I left that at the room" , never the Resort , not hotel just ..."The Room"....
MGM...yeah that will always be that..Can't help it....Please it took me awaile to get use to POR being changed from Dixie Landings.
The Tommorland transit Authority....Yes in our family it is "the Relaxing ride" been that name for 10yrs now....Primarily because when the kids were babies it was a great ride to get out of the heat and either feed them or just to chill and relax....
I know I could go on and on ......so feel free if you have any!

I can't wait 26 more days till we get to go on the relaxing ride!!

While this is a character thing and not an attraction, building, etc. I know most people on here refer to The Princess and the Frog villain as Dr. Facilier. Being a parent of young children who watch the movie fairly regularly, we refer to him by his nickname since even in the movie, he's most commonly referred to as "the Shadowman." I know several of my friends have gotten confused on the various forums when seeing Dr. Facilier references since it's uncommon to refer to him as such outside of Disney park enthusiast circles. I know the first time I saw the reference I had to Google it b/c it didn't ring a bell for me...and I'd seen the movie probably a good 30x at that point. So...Shadowman it is!!!:D

We also say Peoplemover. COP is always GE, Teacups, Splash, Pirates, and one from the past was "If you had Wings". We always called that "Eastern".

Hope you'll have fun at your trip. Save some Dole whips for me - it's 43 days for my turn!

- Peoplemover. Always just the Peoplemover.
- The Studios
- I too generally refer to my hotel as just 'the hotel' or 'the room'
- There's some old names that I still use, 'Living Seas', 'the Village'
- Anything in the World Showcase is referred to as 'Name Country + object'. That is 'The France movie', 'The Mexico Boatride', 'The Japan Restaurant'.

Most bizarrely, I have adopted some internet abbreviations into my speech, which sounds really odd to others. Such as 'Let's hit the MK today'. 'I think I left my bag over at ToT', which I pronounce as 'tot'. :brick:
