Mystic Manor Clone At WDW

Why has every ride based on Spiderman somehow gotten progressively worse than Spiderman?
Because Spiderman is impossibly good? I was blown away, something that hadn't happened since early eighties EPCOT rides.

There are rides I like better than Spidey. Many. But few overwhelm me more for sheer technical perfection. And great storytelling too, from queue to finish.

Not sure how it looks in person, but in the HD POV video of Mystic Manor that I saw, the screens used looked very crisp and clear, and the stuff displayed on the screens looked very realistic and did not look like they would take away the feeling of being immersed in the ride. If you can get that kind of quality from screens used in an attraction, I think a larger amount of screens could work. If WDI decides to use a cheaper type of screen to stay under budget, or the screens aren't maintained, then they will stick out like a sore thumb.
The best examples would be the Medusa painting, the King Tutu tomb, and the final where everything is spinning around.

I'd much rather they redesign Frontierland to accomidate and bring Phantom Manor with Mystic Manor level tech rather than Mystic Manor itself. However, given that each Disney park area already has at least one Mansion, I don't see why Disney would want to spend money bringing over a different version of a Mansion type thing. It's not quite like asking Disney World to get a copy Indiana Jones Adventure to me.

It's not that spectacular. Mousetouille. Sit in your vehicle, with another family, watch Sorcerer's Apprentice on a very large screen with your 3D glasses on, get splashed in the face as your car spins while moving away from the screen.
I ragged on Pirates Shanghai for being 90% screens a while ago but I saw a Mystic Manor ridethrough recently and I was really impressed at how well the screens were used. It's a mix of really high motion animatronic and small screens so it's not obvious until you think about how they're doing the effect. I saw the effects being shown and then it took me a few second to realize they were screens because the stuff on them looked so good and were blended well into the environment.

If the Mickey ride is going to be more similar to Mystic Manor and not Pirates Shanghai then I'm sure it'll be good.

Query: Are we getting splashed in the face with bourbon? If so, I'm on board with this.

Yes, the Mousetouille story is set after 1928, Steamboat Willy's year. This was chosen to tie it in neatly with DHS 1930s era. *SPOILER* The main antagonist is Pegleg 'Bootleg' Pete, who in the ride's finale as you escape the speakeasy will splash you in the face with special Mickey Whiskey, which the bean counters hope will become New DHS' answer to butter beer. /*SPOILER*

To me, it would make sense to bring the ride system & ride tech to WDW, not the whole identical attraction. The ride system could have so many different applications, just based on the fact that you can make each ride vehicle move exactly the way you want, as you are not constrained by a track.

If they do indeed build some kind of vintage Mickey mouse attraction, it would be cool if the whole thing were in black and white.

Universal has done some really cool all-black-and-white haunted houses in the past.

Maybe it's just the fog in my mind getting a little thicker, but has there ever been a Mickey-based ride/dark ride attraction in either of the US Disney parks? We've had Mickey's Toontown, Philharmagic, etc, but no "ride" per se.

Not unless you count his cameo in the Great Movie ride.

Disney actually already has their own Bourbon Whiskey - it's a Knobb Creek private barrel selection only available at WDW - and frankly, it's terrible.

ETA - I had to spell the brand wrong because if you use one "b", it's filtered for some reason.

I feel like this ride would do well in Epcot because it explores artifacts from all over the world. Idk; thoughts on this?

An interesting thought, but where would you put it? There aren't really any generic attractions in World Showcase that tie together all of the countries, and the American pavilion in the central location isn't going anywhere. Locating MM in Future World just wouldn't work. I think Adventureland at MK still makes the most sense (or DAK ignoring the animal/conservation theme debate). I'd really like to see this happen. Splash Mountain was the last great dark ride added to WDW. Little Mermaid is ok, but another high-capacity family dark ride would be great. Especially on that side of the park.

Imagination... Albert (the monkey) is replaced by Figment. Lord Mystic is replaced by Dreamfinder. Dreamfinder is trying to put Figment to bed, but figment is too excited with all the ideas going through his head. Then his imagination starts making things happen as the ride progresses. As things move on, the tone gets darker and darker as you descend into Figment's nightmare into the final scene, then bam, everything is dark, and you see figment waking up and realize that it was all a dream... would fit perfectly...

Great idea. I was thinking of literally plopping the Manor down in Epcot. Dreamfinder and Figment are a perfect match for this sort of adventure.

While I like the Figment idea; the likely hood of that happening instead of a plain remount of the ride is not very likely and it would possibly go into the China pavilion because it's in HKDL and the Manor is based there OR since Lord Mystic; I may not remember correctly; has a British accent from what I can recall, maybe it's the ride that'll be going in the UK and not Mary Poppins at all? @marni1971 Any thoughts on this as a possibility?

None whatsoever. Apart from I very very very much doubt it.
