Mystery Project at Epcot

Regarding Soarin' which was brought up as the possible project... I recently went on Europe in the Air at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It is an eerie knockoff of Soarin' down to the logo, boarding films and even theme music. It was nowhere near the caliber of Soarin'... but the thought that kept occurring to me was "wow! the film is so clear!" Reason being, last time we "experienced" Soarin' we were accompanied by a giant black fleck that soared all over California with us. And that was first thing in the morning. The thing is, Soarin' probably needs help far less than Energy or the many other ideas discussed here... oh my poor EPCOT, where can they even begin with you?! (I've caught a case of the cynicism that's been going around)

You can thank Disney (TDO) for cheaping out on WDW's version. To quote TP2000 "The projector room in Cali is a Clean Room that is double-sealed with special HEPA filtration vents and a HVAC system that creates a higher pressure inside the room than found outside the second door, so it's very hard to allow dirt and dust into the projection room to begin with. It's the same sort of technology used in high-tech operating rooms and laboratories, and it was custom built for the Soarin' theaters." Where as we got the bargain basement version. Cali also replaces their films when they become to worn out.

Last time I rode in Cali there were imperfections as annoying as the ones that were there the last time I rode in Epcot.

It would be cool if they did a Soarin' film featuring Florida. I would imagine that making a film for the ride wouldn't be too tough because Disney would just have to shoot the video, format it to the screen, and sync it with the flying chairs. It would be really awesome if the Imagineers would make a new video for Soarin' because it is such a popular and unique attraction. :)

Yes, but there aren't too many mountain peaks to lift your legs over though...

And this is why so many are becoming disenchanted with Disney. This is something that would require far less money to do than some of the other major overhauls that are needed, yet they refuse to do this one simple thing. I've often wondered why Disney has let things slip so far. Is it because they have a larger picture in mind and know that what is broken or breaking right now will eventually get majorly overhauled soon anyway or is it just apathy?

I think it's that wait times haven't changed and a new ride film won't draw new crowds so why bother?

Ignoring the fact that keeping everything nice is just good business.

Yeah, and to this point Disney seems to be having far less 'offseason'. This leads to crowds and TDO simply won't fix rides because they still draw. However, with this logic they should create new attractions to lessen lines everywhere. That or try to control it with MM+ which is what they are doing (well its one reason why they are doing MM+).

I could see a Phineas and Ferb-based 3D movie taking cues from Magic Journeys. Plus it'd be enough of an easy install/uninstall that when the Phineas and Ferb franchise goes the way of Kim Possible, it'd be easy to transition to something else.
"Easy to replace" has been said about film attractions for decades but it has yet to happen.

Honestly it's a ripoff, yes, but it's a pleasant experience no matter the film.

When the Project Gemini revamp for all of Future World was suggested, (This was before when Soarin' was actually built) They had plans for Soarin' but it was over the world instead of just California. Fits better for Disney World, don't ya think?
Especially since there's more international visitors here than there.

I'd imagine taking off from MCO and then going up the East Coast, then going to Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, and then the rest of North America.
