Helpdesk?!?! How many here like calling any IT for help? This is going to be a huge failure, even though Disney is going to make it happen.

does anyone know if anyone buying their passes @ check in is ever included in this? we are @ BLT in 2 weeks, but we buy our passes when we check in.

still hoping theres a slim chance we get included in the test, but not holding my breath.

then again, i also assume they include BLT with the Contemporary....but i could be wrong there.

BLT is currently not in the test. Only regular resort reservations that are non-DVC are available at the moment.

We are going in 3 weeks and I was just on the dining pages. I can reserve a FP for lunch at Be Our Guest.

They had tested Fasspass+ for there back in May in a different way. http://fiddledeeme.com/2013/05/be-our-guest-restaurant-counter-service-fastpass-test-experience/ So I am not surprised to see it added into this test.

I updated the list of Fasspass+ Options for this round of testing on Page 1 of this thread. http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/...ons-at-the-magic-kingdom.870290/#post-5635112

That is a great use of a Fasspass if you desire to get in there and don't have an ADR for dinner. That line can be just as long as any of the major attrations. Thanks for passing along the info.

I'm in here re-arranging my weekend for Labot Day. Had 3FP+ in Epcot 8/31 and 3 in MK 9/1. We switched days and MK 8/31 gave me a bonus of HM at like 5-6 PM. I tried to change HM and there were no available rides at that time. So i changed the time to 11-12 am, then changed the experience. (Peter Pan based on the options and the line it gets, and the kids like it).

WDW: Touch-to-Pay System Outage (Aug. 6, 2013)
Please, note the following advisory affecting the new Touch-to-Pay system at the Walt Disney World Resort:
_________________________________________________________________________
Currently, Touch-to-Pay outages are being experienced across the Walt Disney World Resort property. Impacted locations include a majority of Merchandise, Food & Beverage, and Recreation locations. All the locations experiencing outages will just go back to the old system for today, with Cast Members manually swiping the Guests' Key to the World cards.
Guests with MagicBands will be required to show their Key to the World card. If a Guest with a MagicBand did not carry their Key to the World card, Cast Members will request an alternative form of payment.
_________________________________________________________________________
We will keep you informed if there should be any additional news on the subject. Stay tuned.

A little confused. Are those only picked for the test seeing FP+ options pop up on their MDE app? We are going on November and are not fully paid yet and was wondering where everyone Is seeing the FP+ options on the app?

Was this planned?

If not, then for all those saying "I can just leave my wallet in my room and just use my band", that's not going to be the case - if it goes down often, then people are going to need to carry around a second form of payment. And if this affects DDP, then for that family of 10 that left their wallets in their rooms that were going to use their free table service credits at a place that requires a $10 deposit per person, it's no longer going to be fun...

So much for the idea that Magicbands will allow you to leave your wallet in the hotel room.

Exactly. I never understood the people who said they would be able to leave their wallet in their hotel room and just wear their band. I don't think I ever leave the house without my wallet, which would contain my license (ID), health insurance card, some cash, etc. Even if I was just going from hotel to park.

The NextGen thing is clearly turning into a huge debacle, but even in the best of circumstances, systems can go down, there can be power outages, or some other emergency or unplanned situation. It's always a good idea to bring an ID and some cash wherever you go.

I'm not getting any special FP+ options either. I'm 75 days out so outside the window for booking FP+.

As has been mentioned, they are *testing* the system at the moment. The tests are solely within the month of August and only at certain resorts. Only those who have reservations on the proper dates and resorts will see FP+ show up as an option on their accounts.

This is a test period. Anybody that assumes that everything is going to go perfectly during the test deserves what he gets.

I don't believe that was his point and if it was then I will try to make the point that is more salient that needs to be made. I think all/most of us realize this is a test right now. There will be issues. This is why those participating in the test are given Keys to the Kingdom cards in addition to their MagicBands. It is a test. This is only a test. However, even when the system is fully tested and operational, it is still a techonological piece. With any technology anything can and WILL happen. To be honest, putting too much trust and reliance on technology has been a major downfall in this country. It is why if you go to a store and something rings up wrong or you hand the change to the clerk with your ten dollar bill after they ring it in they cannot figure out what to give you back. It is over reliance in "the system" to do everything for you and "the system" is always right. It would be foolish to ever leave your room with just your MagicBand on your wrist. Becareful when dealing with technology. It is a wonderful thing but is programmed by a human and to err is human.

My family and I are checking in at the AKL on Sept 2 and staying thru the 8th. This morning when I logged onto the mydisneyexperience site I was able to make our fastpass+ selections, however I still am unable to select and modify our magicbands....Anyone else have this issue?

I still like the idea of the wristband but would never just leave my wallet in the room. You need your ID to buy a beer.
Though with 2+ billion dollars you would think they would come up with a way to figure out my age from my wristband, just like all the other stuff they already know about me.

Disney can't even keep their website functioning properly most of the time. Now compound that with this MM+ nonsense and it has the makings of a colossal fail.

I'm sure they CAN tell the age of the person associated with the MagicBand. However, I have yet to hear of them capturing an image to place on the MagicBand or associated in their system. So how would they know that the person with the MagicBand is the person who's MagicBand it is?

MagicBands are not a cure all and I certainly don't think they will be marketing them as such.
