My trip isn't until October and I don't think I will last. It is like my tenth trip but still...

All I want to do is tell people about my trip so I refrain as I know that would be annoying and I visit this site often!

My DH's Aunt & Uncle look at me like I'm a little crazy for scheduling a Pooh breakfast. MY brother had breakfast with Mickey for his 40th birthday so it must run in the family as neither of us have kids! :ROFLOL: Are we the only ones who do character meals w/o kids?

Thanks for this site and listening to me vent!

Just face it...some people just don't get it!:hammer:
Our trip is not until Sept., & I am as excited today as if I were leaving tomorrow!
:sohappy:
You are not the only one who enjoys the character meals...we schedule as many as we can!
I loved WDW before I had kids & I think I love it even more now that I have kids!
I love to see their faces when they experience WDW!:)
Don't let others spoil your happiness...I'm sure they have things that they are just as crazy about & they would expect you to listen to them talk about what they like!:D

I've only ever experienced Disney without kids! Character meals and all! :p

This September (which is taking FOREVER to get here!) will be my daughter's first time. She'll be 5 and while I look forward to seeing the amazed look in her eyes. I told my husband, I'm not afraid to leave them (hubby and daughter) behind if they're moving too slow for me! :lookaroun Of course, I'm kidding! :ROFLOL:

I understand totally. My husband and I do NOT have kids, and on our honeymoon we did a TON of character dining. We really liked Pooh's crystal palace for breakfast! Just recently we at at the Land Pavillion's Garden Grill in EPCOT, it's mostly a Chip N Dale character meal, the food is AWESOME!! I also really like Liberty Tree Tavern for Dinner in MK, it has Chip N Dale, Pluto, Goofy and Minnie. Minnie looks really cute in colonial attire. Anyway, the first time we went to WDW we created wallet sized itenraries for each day, and after our first trip we got into the habit of making as many meal reservations in advance as possible. That's how we got to do so many character meals, and wonderful hard-to-get dining options like OHANA!!! We have dinner reservations at Jiko on Friday. Did I mention we live in FL now? We have APs and go contstantly. So I guess sometime after our trip in May 06 we decided we couldn't wait either. October will come soon enough, and in the meantime you can reserve all your meals and special events. Have you been to Hoop De Doo review yet?

I have all my dining reservations and room booked. The only thing I can't book is the golf because I have to wait until 3 months before...:brick:

I know, thank goodness. Gongrats on your 15th. We will be celebrating our 14th. We are thinking next yer of doing V&A's for our 15th. If you haven't done your ADR I stongly recommend it. I called right at the 180 day mark and had to settle for an 8:40 time at Coral Reef. A LOT of people from this site alone are going in Oct.

Your not the only one who does character meals without any kids (just check out my photo album) we do at least one every trip. In September were headed to Donald's Breakfastasaurs(sp?). I was just there last week, and already September can't come soon enough

We ALWAYS do character breakfasts. We are going Sept 8-16 (finally dropped under 100 days but the wait is killing me too!!). We love the character breakfast at GF and Crystal Palace since I love Pooh Bear. I am 30 and my husband, who also loves these breakfasts, is 32. We have no kids yet but feel WDW is the only place we can do this and still be considered "normal" :)

We did have a bad experience though on our first trip to WDW together in 2003. We were eating at Crystal Palace and a very rude family was sitting next to us. Their son, who had been jumping up and down on the booth the whole meal (he was around 5 or 6) leans over and puts his head in my husband's meal (yes this is no joke). The entire back of his head went into my husbands scrambled eggs. I did not expect the kid to apologize but I thought his parents would on his behalf or they would tell their son to apologize. Not a peep out of them! They actually gave us a dirty look when they were cleaning the food out of his hair as if it were our fault eggs got into his hair.

So my husband, out of annoyance, says that he "lost his appetite" and pushes his plate forward. Aka, he is upset and wants to go ride some rides so let's go. Well, the family heard this and had the audacity to say to us, "You do know this is a kids meal. If you have a problem with kids, you should have sat by the window or gone somewhere else". The only thing that came out of my mouth was directed to my husband, but loud enough for them to hear was, "Did she actually say what I think she said". Luckily nothing more was said and in the end the manager comped his meal which we weren't even expecting.

Apparently the lady had not grasped the concept that in such a busy restaurant you cannot choose where to sit. And we paid just as much for that meal as they did and expected to enjoy it.

Moral of the story, you have a right to eat where you want. And even if you are 30 or 80 for that matter and Pooh Bear or some other character at breakfast brightens your day or puts you in that Disney frame of mind, well them go for it and enjoy (no matter what anyone else may say!)

Um. Wow. We had a bad experience once at Liberty Tree before it was a character meal. These two women had their kids and were letting them run all over the seats.
