For my class, we had to write about a day at the zoo. This is my lovely paper, haven't edited it, and so it's really bad, but I though you would enjoy reading it :)

My favorite place to visit is the zoo. Once, I went to the zoo with Peace, Elana, Molly, Mario, and Krysten. I wished to see the monkeys, but Peace wished to caress a flame. Therefore, since Peace would not close for above, we went to see the flames. The domestic animal of Peace a flame so it was very happy. After that one, we went to see the monkeys. One of the monkeys stuck his tounge out to Mario. We laughed . Molly loves whales, so we were there later. Molly said each one everything on the whales. ONe of the whales sounded as he sang. Krysten has taste of giraffes, so we went there next. The tour guide said to us that that giraffes makes sounds as a ewe does. I tried to make the sound, and each one was ed ***reflx mng of me. The parade came close, and was really fresh. There were uniform elephants! All excited to US, except Elena. Elena was scared of clowns. It does not have taste of her great red noses. Everything we said outside to him that acceptable. Since obtained Elena scared, we left its selection where to go later. It chose to go sees the tigers. There were two tigers in the cage. They were amba that slept. We had to leave that later. Before we were ourselves, we stopped in the gift shop. I obtained a great stuffed animal. It was the best trip always!

Now, DD agreed with almost 100% of your translation, but thought you were being a little picky on the "obtained a stuff snimal"....she would have read it as "got" for clarity. ;)

LOL! Now, I don´t know how you did it, but that is exactly how it reads also in Spanish!

Princess, if you want, I can check it for you after you edit it. We can cheat on your teacher... hehe :goodnevil :animwink: Don´t use the online translators because it doesn´t make much sense, but it is certainly funny! ;) ;)

My apologies.... I am not trying to make fun of the Spanish....
I thought I was saying... " I don't speak Spanish...even in Mexico"
So much for trying to be funny.....

I hate my Spanish class. I would have an A in that class if not for the subjunctive and future perfect and past perfect and pluperfect and all kinds of crazy conjugations of verbs. Instead I'm gonna have a C and its going to kill my GPA for the semester.

*( Whispers*) Then Just Copy And Paste ;)
Molly liebt Wale, also waren wir dort später.

I want to take sign language, but at my school they only offer Spanish and French. Next fall Japanese will be offered.

It's just another disadvantage of going to a small liberal arts school. I'd be at another school if transfering would entail basicall starting over. I only have 3 semesters left after this one.

I can have a rough conversation in Spanish. I can get my point across and understand most responses or enough to get the jist of it.

The worst part about Spanish is all of the dialects spoken. It's hard to learn a language when there are 30 different words in Spanish for 1 English word.

Not at all like English...where you have sofa, or couch, or divan, or chesterfield, or davenport. or daybed, or....you get the idea! ;)

OK ill stop now

In my limited experience working with lots of Spanish dialect speaking folks, they had no idea what one was saying at some points. They had to ask for descriptions or what it was in English to understand what something was.

In English, most people know what you are talking about when you say couch or sofa. I've never heard of a divan, chesterfield, or davenport.

If you were English, (or from anywhere in the UK) you would have! There are lots of different "dialects' in English, also. I suspect it's just as frustrating for someone trying to learn English.
;) (and just a hint...if you're in a restaurant in Canada, or most places in the Commonwealth, don't ever ask for a napkin ...trust me! ;))
