Those are not "dialects". Spanish doesn´t have dialects. There is only simple Spanish. However, the Spanish spoken in Spain is different than the one in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, etc. Each country has their own lingo and many times a word would have a different meaning in each country. For instance, in Mexico, "papaya" is a tropical fruit, but in Cuba, it is a female´s genitals. Same with the word "cajeta" which is a milk dessert in Mexico and the same thing as in Cuba, but in Argentina. :animwink:
Please... don´t tell me you were speaking Spanish with Portoricans... that´s a whole different story...

It´s the same thing with Spanish from all over the world, than with English between USA and UK and Australia. It´s exactly the same with us.
By the way, wdwprincess, do not use the translator for your homework.... you will flunk. It doesn´t make sense!!!
