Carey Poppins - Nanny and Disney Enthusiest
Hi all,

Okay, so my DH, who does love Disney but thinks i'm a "freak" with my Disney obsession - in a good way of course. has just thrown out a challenge. And asked me to ask all of you. Are you up to it?? :)

He and I are going to WDW at the end of Feb for our Baby-Moon but also, we are finding out if we are having a boy or a girl while we are down there.

I came up with an idea of how to do this gender reveal. It involves, Main St., a balloon handler, someone from guest services, and a photopass photographer. The Guest Services person will have the envelope, will open it, will whisper to the balloon handler if it is a boy or a girl and the balloon person will hand us either a pink or a blue balloon. All the while, the photographer will be snapping away.

My DH said, since we are having lunch at CRT immediately after this, why not put the reveal in the hands of the CRT cast members. His idea, give the envelope to a friend, have them call the bakery, make a cake, bring it to the table and have CRT present us with the cake - which is either blue or pink inside - and then present either a wand or a sword.

Those are our ideas - but now, we are tossing it to you all. Do you have any ideas on how to do the reveal? Some things - it will be on Sunday the 23rd of Feb. It will be at the Magic Kingdom. And it will be me, my DH and my mom.

So my Disney friends - its all yours!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Thank you in advance!

Why not have the appropriate balloons tied to a Mickey or Minnie plush? That way, you still get the balloon but also the toy to keep for your baby.

Hope there'll be tons of photos- can't wait to see/hear how it all goes! I have applaud your willpower in not finding out. I actually booked a private gender scan at 16 weeks because I couldn't wait to find out at my routine anomaly scan at 20 weeks haha.

Couldn't you have a friend or family member call the Disney Florist with the result and have them place the plush in your room that way you will know once you check into your room? Then you could still have your picture taken with a balloon and or a sign that says "It's a ___" and then you can post the picture to your loved ones.

That's a good idea - but we have this romantic notion of finding out inside the Magic Kingdom. :)

Oh....here's another thought. Not just one balloon but a bunch of helium balloons. Once you find out you keep one and let the rest float away. I can just imagine the balloons floating above you and your husband as you share a kiss holding onto the one single pink or blue balloon . You can keep the one balloon to add to your babies treasures. :cat:

I actually love this. We have done IVF for almost 4 years. In our hearts, our embryos that didn't take, they are lives, our little ones in heaven. So we could have 10 balloons plus the boy or girl one. Since this was embryo 10 and 11 that was transferred in . And let them float away, to represent that we remember and love the ones who didn't take. I really love this idea!!!

I have to say I personally love the balloon idea! And I think someone mentioned to you'll have Cinderella's Castle in the background for pictures and everything. It will be beautiful! I do like the idea of the plush too. I'm sure you could buy one and just have the CM get it for you and wrap it up and that could be the reveal! I'll be down there that day! (well not in the park no park tickets for a short trip just running for the Princess weekend but will be staying at the Poly) hope to run into you! and congratulations too on the baby!

Good luck on the run! That is why we had this trip booked! Thank you! :)

Maybe you could have PUSH tell you somehow, that would be a cool service if Disney was able to have PUSH programmed to do things like that.....oh no what am I saying, that's like adding another M&G for a trash can.....haha, probably not how you would want to find out anyways.

Releasing balloons can be a danger to wildlife. :bored:
