Hello to everyone!!! We returned from our Disney trip on May 6th, and things have been so busy and crazy since we got home! I am finally getting around to starting my trip report, so I hope every one enjoys it! I will be trying to give as much detail as I can remember. I tried to take pictures of everywhere we went, but I dont think that lasted past the 2nd day! Over all we had an AMAZING TRIP! So many firsts for me and my hubby, and this was our daughters first trip so it was awesome to see things through her eyes! I loved going to Disney World with just me and my hubby, but I think it would have to be quite a while before I could go without our daughter again! It really was even more magical than I thought it would be! And now to start the report, I will introduce the players:
1) Myself, 23 years old, work full time for the company you either love or hate, yes, Walmart. I am the biggest DIsney nut in my and my hubby's families, although his mom and sister are close behind. I planned everything out to the hour, had our reservations set 90 days out, and came to these boards daily to read, and ask questions. I truely am IN LOVE with Disney!!
2) Josh aka DH he is 23 years old, works at the shipyard, makes all the money, that I get to spend! JK! He likes Disney, but is no where near me in the obsessed category.... He was dreading this trip, as he thought our daughter was going to be horrible and would be the screaming child throwing tantrums constantly. He likes to go out and drink til late at night, and likes to sleep in, especially while on vacation. I was afraid that he would not let this trip be for our daughter, but would instead focus on things we couldnt do because she was there.
3) Alexia aka DD she is 3 1/2, loves Mickey Mouse Club House, and Tigger and Pooh, as well as all the Disney movies, especially Bambi and Alice in Wonderland. This is her first trip, and prior to going, I had already brainwashed her into a disney freak. She watched ride videos with me for weeks and months before the trip. She is 40 1/2 inches so can ride almost everything! She talked about riding the "ghost ride" and the "roller coaster" all the time before the trip so I couldn't wait to see if she really liked them! As Im writing this she walked up to ask me if we could go to Disney World... Anyway, now on to the report!!!
Day 1: Arrival day!
The Alarm was set for 3am, I was up at 2:45. I got the suitcases into the car, got my iced coffee made and ready to grab on the way out the door. I woke up DH at about 3:15, he got dressed while I woke up DD. She wanted nothing to do with actually waking up... 3:30 is a bit early for her! I carried her to the car, got her buckled, and had to call DH to get him to get down stairs! Finally with us all in the car, we took off to the airport, DD slept the whole ride, and DH grumbled about how tired he was and how awful this trip was gonna be. We got to the airport about 4:15, record time for us! our flight was at 6:05 on Southwest. This would be our first time flying with them, and I was really excited! I had checked in the morning before right at 6:05, and we had group A 28-29-30 which made me feel secure that we would all be sitting together! When we arrived DD woke right up! We got the suitcases out of the trunk, and walked a few yards to the bus stop. within 5 minutes our ride came, and we were on the bus to the entrance!
We made it through security super quick and were off to our gate! At about 5:45 DD decide she needed to use the restroom, we ran to the bathroom, and as we were running back to the gate, they started calling us on! We rushed to our "spot" and were on the plane headed off to our magical vacation! DH was starting to wake up a bit more, and was less cranky, which is always a good thing! I had my sudoku book, DD had her coloring books, and DH had his 4 wheeler magazine. Before too long, the two of them had passed out!
After our direct flight down we arrived just about 9am at MCO! Off to DME we went! We got checked in and were in our line in about 5 minutes flat. Only 1 minute in line (if that) and we were being boarded onto our bus! We sat in the front seat behind the driver as I wanted to have a great view of the welcome sign!
Our bus was compiled of people from POP, Carribean beach, Coronado (where we were going) and AKL. We went to Carribean first, I had never seen this place before, and after the short drive by that our bus did, I dont think I would really like it. After CB we were off to Coronado!!! We were almost "home"!
We arrived at about 10:30, got checked in, got the room type I had requested and our room was actually READY!!! we took the nice walk to our room, left our larger carry-ons in the room, and walked over to the pool to see who was working at the pool bar. We had been to Coronado twice in the past year and a half, so we had became friends with the bartenders and the manager there. After saying a quick hello and introducing them to our DD, we headed to the park area to play for a bit. While DD played I got this unique shot of the backside of the pyramid at the pool.
We grabbed a quick lunch here and while eating had this little friend join us.
DD was very interested in our little squirrel friend, and he happened to visit us quite a bit during the rest of the trip! She had a great time feeding him french fries and chips!
After our lunch we headed off to where else?, but the Magic Kingdom!
here's our first bus ride to a park of the trip!
We hoped on the bus and got there at about 12:30, went straight to the stroller rental, and got seven days of rentals. Right as we walked out of the rental area, the MISICI parade was coming out! DD got on DH shoulders, and this is the priceless look that stayed on her face the whole time the parade went by!
We followed the parade up main stret singing and dancing the whole way! once to the hub, we watched from where the announcer was, and after a few minutes started walking towards Liberty square. DD caught sight of Woody, and we watched a bit longer. When they started all the dancing in the "street" I could not help but cry a bit, it was so amazing to watch my little baby dancing and singing and having such a great time at my favorite place on Earth! even DH was crying, he threw on his dark sunglasses every time he started to get emotional, but he couldn't hide it from me!
I had planned on waiting in line for DUmbo for her first ride, seeing that she kept talking about riding it before the trip, and I knew that was a favorite of young children, but as we got to the back side of the castle, she saw the carousel, and that became her first ride ever in Disney World!
After the Carousel we did hit up Dumbo, after about a 30 mintue wait (it was about 1:30 in the afternoon)
After Dumbo we hit up the Jungle cruise. As we were heading to the stand by line (wait was posted at 30 minutes), a man walked up and asked how many people we had, after saying 3, he handed us fast passes that were good for right then! We were having a great start to this trip! We had a great skipper, I wish I could remember his name because he really was awsome, I wanna say it was Jeff, but Im not positive. I was sitting right in front of him, and I may have been the only person on the boat that was actually laughing hard, not just the quick "heh" I felt like everyone thought I was crazy, but the guy was good!!!
We headed over to BTMRR. My DD had been talking about the "roller coaster" for months, and I couldnt wait to find out if she liked it as much as she liked watching the videos of it!
She absolutely LOVED IT! It was the first ride that as soon as we got off she said she wanted to go again! I was so happy to know that she loved it and it made me think she was gonna love every ride! We headed on to Splash and she loved that also! the picture wasnt great because we were in the second row and the lady in front of us blocked DD so we planned on asking for the front on our next ride on it.
