My DD's first trip to the World!!

Hello to everyone!!! We returned from our Disney trip on May 6th, and things have been so busy and crazy since we got home! I am finally getting around to starting my trip report, so I hope every one enjoys it! I will be trying to give as much detail as I can remember. I tried to take pictures of everywhere we went, but I dont think that lasted past the 2nd day! Over all we had an AMAZING TRIP! So many firsts for me and my hubby, and this was our daughters first trip so it was awesome to see things through her eyes! I loved going to Disney World with just me and my hubby, but I think it would have to be quite a while before I could go without our daughter again! It really was even more magical than I thought it would be! And now to start the report, I will introduce the players:
1) Myself, 23 years old, work full time for the company you either love or hate, yes, Walmart. I am the biggest DIsney nut in my and my hubby's families, although his mom and sister are close behind. I planned everything out to the hour, had our reservations set 90 days out, and came to these boards daily to read, and ask questions. I truely am IN LOVE with Disney!!
2) Josh aka DH he is 23 years old, works at the shipyard, makes all the money, that I get to spend! JK! He likes Disney, but is no where near me in the obsessed category.... He was dreading this trip, as he thought our daughter was going to be horrible and would be the screaming child throwing tantrums constantly. He likes to go out and drink til late at night, and likes to sleep in, especially while on vacation. I was afraid that he would not let this trip be for our daughter, but would instead focus on things we couldnt do because she was there.
3) Alexia aka DD she is 3 1/2, loves Mickey Mouse Club House, and Tigger and Pooh, as well as all the Disney movies, especially Bambi and Alice in Wonderland. This is her first trip, and prior to going, I had already brainwashed her into a disney freak. She watched ride videos with me for weeks and months before the trip. She is 40 1/2 inches so can ride almost everything! She talked about riding the "ghost ride" and the "roller coaster" all the time before the trip so I couldn't wait to see if she really liked them! As Im writing this she walked up to ask me if we could go to Disney World... Anyway, now on to the report!!!

Day 1: Arrival day!
The Alarm was set for 3am, I was up at 2:45. I got the suitcases into the car, got my iced coffee made and ready to grab on the way out the door. I woke up DH at about 3:15, he got dressed while I woke up DD. She wanted nothing to do with actually waking up... 3:30 is a bit early for her! I carried her to the car, got her buckled, and had to call DH to get him to get down stairs! Finally with us all in the car, we took off to the airport, DD slept the whole ride, and DH grumbled about how tired he was and how awful this trip was gonna be. We got to the airport about 4:15, record time for us! our flight was at 6:05 on Southwest. This would be our first time flying with them, and I was really excited! I had checked in the morning before right at 6:05, and we had group A 28-29-30 which made me feel secure that we would all be sitting together! When we arrived DD woke right up! We got the suitcases out of the trunk, and walked a few yards to the bus stop. within 5 minutes our ride came, and we were on the bus to the entrance!
001.jpg

We made it through security super quick and were off to our gate! At about 5:45 DD decide she needed to use the restroom, we ran to the bathroom, and as we were running back to the gate, they started calling us on! We rushed to our "spot" and were on the plane headed off to our magical vacation! DH was starting to wake up a bit more, and was less cranky, which is always a good thing! I had my sudoku book, DD had her coloring books, and DH had his 4 wheeler magazine. Before too long, the two of them had passed out!

004.jpg

After our direct flight down we arrived just about 9am at MCO! Off to DME we went! We got checked in and were in our line in about 5 minutes flat. Only 1 minute in line (if that) and we were being boarded onto our bus! We sat in the front seat behind the driver as I wanted to have a great view of the welcome sign!
008.jpg

Our bus was compiled of people from POP, Carribean beach, Coronado (where we were going) and AKL. We went to Carribean first, I had never seen this place before, and after the short drive by that our bus did, I dont think I would really like it. After CB we were off to Coronado!!! We were almost "home"!
We arrived at about 10:30, got checked in, got the room type I had requested and our room was actually READY!!! we took the nice walk to our room, left our larger carry-ons in the room, and walked over to the pool to see who was working at the pool bar. We had been to Coronado twice in the past year and a half, so we had became friends with the bartenders and the manager there. After saying a quick hello and introducing them to our DD, we headed to the park area to play for a bit. While DD played I got this unique shot of the backside of the pyramid at the pool.
012.jpg

We grabbed a quick lunch here and while eating had this little friend join us.
015-1.jpg

DD was very interested in our little squirrel friend, and he happened to visit us quite a bit during the rest of the trip! She had a great time feeding him french fries and chips!
After our lunch we headed off to where else?, but the Magic Kingdom!
here's our first bus ride to a park of the trip!
018.jpg

We hoped on the bus and got there at about 12:30, went straight to the stroller rental, and got seven days of rentals. Right as we walked out of the rental area, the MISICI parade was coming out! DD got on DH shoulders, and this is the priceless look that stayed on her face the whole time the parade went by!
025.jpg

We followed the parade up main stret singing and dancing the whole way! once to the hub, we watched from where the announcer was, and after a few minutes started walking towards Liberty square. DD caught sight of Woody, and we watched a bit longer. When they started all the dancing in the "street" I could not help but cry a bit, it was so amazing to watch my little baby dancing and singing and having such a great time at my favorite place on Earth! even DH was crying, he threw on his dark sunglasses every time he started to get emotional, but he couldn't hide it from me!
I had planned on waiting in line for DUmbo for her first ride, seeing that she kept talking about riding it before the trip, and I knew that was a favorite of young children, but as we got to the back side of the castle, she saw the carousel, and that became her first ride ever in Disney World!
034.jpg

After the Carousel we did hit up Dumbo, after about a 30 mintue wait (it was about 1:30 in the afternoon)
035.jpg

After Dumbo we hit up the Jungle cruise. As we were heading to the stand by line (wait was posted at 30 minutes), a man walked up and asked how many people we had, after saying 3, he handed us fast passes that were good for right then! We were having a great start to this trip! We had a great skipper, I wish I could remember his name because he really was awsome, I wanna say it was Jeff, but Im not positive. I was sitting right in front of him, and I may have been the only person on the boat that was actually laughing hard, not just the quick "heh" I felt like everyone thought I was crazy, but the guy was good!!!
We headed over to BTMRR. My DD had been talking about the "roller coaster" for months, and I couldnt wait to find out if she liked it as much as she liked watching the videos of it!
040.jpg

She absolutely LOVED IT! It was the first ride that as soon as we got off she said she wanted to go again! I was so happy to know that she loved it and it made me think she was gonna love every ride! We headed on to Splash and she loved that also! the picture wasnt great because we were in the second row and the lady in front of us blocked DD so we planned on asking for the front on our next ride on it.

day 1 cont.

It was about 3:45 at this point and we had dinner ADR's at Garden Grill at 5:45 so we jumped on the train and rode it to the front of the MK.
041.jpg

Once we arrived to Epcot we were behind someone talking on a cell phone and they were explaining that they were almost to "the big ball". I usually hold my chuckle in when I hear these things, but my DH turned to me and said, "wow, the big ball eh?" He says he doesnt love Disney, but most people wouldn't think anything of it and only a disney lover would find that statement humorous!
We get to the Land and its only 4:50 or so. We grabbed some fast passes for Soarin' with times of 6:30-7:30. Then we decide to ride Living with the Land. DD is actually quite interested in it all, and is pointing out everything to us. It's so neat to see things through the eyes of a child! So far, we have had only great luck! no melt downs, and DD has been so amazing!
Here are a few pics from Dinner. DD gets really shy and makes really weird faces around the characters, so you will notice she may look a little "special" in some of these pics.

054.jpg

058.jpg

After dinner it was time for Soarin!! DD was really excited about this one! After about a 10 minute wait in the fast pass line, we were flying! DD Loved Soarin'!!! We have realized by this point that she truely is just like her parents, a complete adrenaline junkie! After Soarin, we left the land, and walked out into a D-E-A-D Epcot! It was amazing!
063.jpg

we were all really tired though and we decided to head back towards the buses. Right before we got to SSE I asked if DH and DD wanted to ride it, DH said no, DD said yes, well before we could even get to the entrance, DD was asleep in the stroller. It had been a long day for all of us, so we headed back to our resort.

Thank you for reading so far!
Day 2 will probably come tomorrow!

Great trip report, I can't wait to read the rest. Your daughter is adorable! I remember when my DD was that age and we went to Disney, the look on their faces is just priceless sometimes. Now my DD is 12 and not so sweet, gotta love that pre-teen attitude.

Day 2

Day 2: Magic Kingdom

We had no ADR's this day and I had planned to be at MK for EMH this morning at 8am, but other than that, we weren't too sure what we would be up to! My plan had DHS in for the evening, but I wasn't dead set on it. My alarm was set for 6am, as usual, my body woke me up about 15 min. before I needed to be, and I was showered dressed, and ready to get going at 6:10! My DD and DH on the other hand were still sound asleep. After turning on the TV and being a bit noisey around the room, DD was awake. All it took to wake DH was DD screaming while I tried to get her dressed! 6:40 and we were off to El Centro to grab some breakfast! The sun hadn't even came over the horizon yet as we made our way over the first bridge.

067-2.jpg

068-2.jpg

Once to the front we decide to do Peper Market, we are the first group seated right at 7am. We grab a quick breakfast of eggs, potatoes, and some fruit, and are outta there by 7:30. We wait at the bus stop for what seems like 30 minutes, in reality it was only 15, I was just so excited to get to the MK!!! We get there just about 8am, got the stroller and were off! Once again, after walkign through the castle, DD wants to ride the carousel and Dumbo, I take her on the carousel 2 times in a row while DH gets fast passes for BTMRR.
075-2.jpg

After the carousel we bypass Dumbo seeing that the wait had grown to 30 minutes and I was not waiting in that line again today. We promised DD we would go on it again later. We headed towards Liberty Square and as soon as we were in sight of Small World, guess what DD wanted to ride??? so at this point it is only about 8:25, and no line for Small World, so we figure why not... We get in our boat, make the whole ride around, and then.... IT happens... We stop. Right at the corner before the unload. Stuck on Small World. Lights came on, they teased us all by occasionally having the song stop, and at one point said they were coming around to evacuate us off the boats... here's a pic of all the happy faces...
083-1.jpg

Finally they turned the lights back off and the boats started moving! There was lots of cheering and applause at this point! Not only were we stuck there for 25 minutes, but it was 25 minutes of EMH!!! So we basicaly got nothing extra accomplished by getting there at 8! Oh well! its about 9 at this point and we decide to head to Haunted Mansion, the "ghost ride" as my DD had been calling it. She had no problem with the stretching room the first ride through, but every time after she would cover her eyes. She didn't like when it went dark. We had a great ride, DD loved this ride as well, I knew she would!
We went over to the castle after HM so we could watch the Castle show. DD wasn't completely thrilled about it, she paid more attention to her coloring book than to te show, but there were a few moments that she got sucked in. This was the first time that me and my DH had seen the show so we both really enjoyed watching it!
088.jpg

After the show we went over to BTMRR and on the way grabbed a FP for Splash. We rode BTMRR took a little break and people watched until our FP time was up for SPlash. We rode splash and got the front, what a great picture we got! We bought an 8X10 of it and then we headed back to the front so we could hop on the bus back to our resort. We got back "home" around 12, DD had fallen asleep on the bus and DH was exhausted, so the 2 of them took a nap in the room, and I took a walk around the resort and grabbed some lunch to bring back to the room for us all. DD was up at 1:30, we woke up DH had our lunch and then off to the pool we went!
104-1.jpg

Our little friend joined us again, and DD fed him some more french fries.

105-2.jpg

We headed back to the MK about 5:30 and got there right as the MISICI parade was going on again!
107-2.jpg

We went over to BTMRR and Splash again, Got right on both of them with about 5 minutes an BTMRR and 10 minute wait at splash. Next we hopped the train to Toon Town. Me and DH had never even steped foot in this area on our past trips! We got right in line for Goofy's Barnstormer, it was only about a 10 minute wait. DD wanted to ride with DH so I rode behind them alone : (
116-1.jpg

After the ride we walked through Minnie's house, DD had a blast playing with the cake in the oven, she found it hilarious! On to the Tea cups we went. the faster we spun for DD the better! she was laughing so hard the whole ride! It was one of those things that made me choke up! Seeing how much fun she was having made me tear up constantly. I cried so much on this trip just by seeing the pure joy in her eyes! We decided we wanted to watch the fireworks, so we headed towards the front, I guess me and DH had never realized how early before the fireworks the place got packed! It was hard enough to walk through, never mind find a good viewing spot! We made our way towards Crystal Palace and ploped down by the stairs. DD passed out before the fireworks started, so DH and I watched together. I think it was our first time watching them from begininning to end. They were great!
120-1.jpg

We waited for the crowds to clear out, and then headed to find a place to relax for a bit. The parade was going to start in 30 minutes, and we raelly wanted to see it. At this point DD was still asleep, and we started thinking about how we had early Breakfast ADR's the next morning, so we decided to skip the parade. This was probably one of the best decisions we made all vacation! we walked wuickly outta the MK, right to the bus stop where a bus was waiting, there were only about 10 of us on the bus so we got to have a nice quiet, relaxing ride back without having to deal with any masses leaving the park!! We were home and in bed by 10:30.
This was the first day on any of my trips that I did not utilize park hopping Already my hour to hour schedule had been thrown out the window, I had planned in the afternoon naps and everything, but I didnt really think about hte fact that there wasn't going to be much at the other parks for DD to really enjoy. There are a few, yes, but MK really was going to be the main park of the trip. So far no melt downs still! DH was still in a great mood and he was really feeling the Disney Magic! I was starting to think that maybe I was slowly converting him from a liker to a lover...
Day 3 will be up either later tonight or tomorrow!

Loving it! I have times when I regret not taking our kids when they were that small, we always thought it would be better to take them when they were old enough to remember it, like we thought we would go once and never go back! We have been so many times since that first time that I have actually lost count! You daughter is adorable, so cute and precious!

I loooove your report!!! Keep it coming! I need this. I'm trying really hard to get into the "spirit" for my nieces' 1st trip coming up in just 2 more weeks. I just got back from a side-journey chasing my other big interest so it's been tough trying to switch gears. I love the pics of your little one. She has her daddy's smile. Sooo cute! I've said it a gazillion times: my only regret with my own 2 boys is that we didn't take them sooner!

I'm tuned in.............:sohappy:

Day 3

Day 3: AK and Epcot
This was an early morning for us, we had breakfast ADR's at O'hana. This was by far my favorite meal of the trip! The alarm went off at 6:30 (yes, it went off BEFORE I woke up!) We all got dressed together for once, and were out the door by 7:30 The bus to MK took FOREVER!!!! finally got on the bus at 8. Off to Mk to catch the monorail to the Poly, or so we thought! Luckily for us, the bus we were on, stopped at the MK and the driver told us all if we were going to the Poly or to the Grand Floridian to stay on since he was going there next. Not a single person got off at MK, aparently we were all going to character breakfasts! So over to the Poly we went. This was my first time walking through the lobby, and it was beautiful! It's definitely on my list of places I'd like to stay some day. We checked in and after about 10 minutes our name was called. We got a table over near the far corner, but it was right on the walk way so DD had plenty of room to play around with the characters. We saw all of the gang, and then it was time for the little parade!
134.jpg

DD had told Pluto that he was her favorite, so when she went to get a shaker, Pluto found her and she got to hold his hand during the little parade! It was the absolute cutest thing ever! I was crying, and DH had his sunglasses on... lol. I took some video and some pictures, and the rest of the time I just watched how happy she was to be holding pluto's hand!
143.jpg

Along with the character interaction here, I really enjoyed the food, the pineapple bread stuff was awesome, and we had just the right amount of food brought to us so we didn't have to worry about asking for more, or having to get up at all during the meal! After the amazing meal we headed out to the bus stop and headed over to AK.

The park was not all that crowded, we headed straight to Camp Minnie Mickey, went in Minnie's line since she had already seen Mickey twice
150.jpg

After meeting Minnie we saw Chip and Dale ad although we had already seen them, DD wanted to again, so we hopped in that line and saw them again. I sent DH to the Safari to grab FP's and met up with him back in Camp Minnie Mickey, while he was gone DD and me watched some guy sing songs to little kids it was wuite funny! We decided to try out FoTLK, DH and I had never seen it before. WOW what an amazing show! We enjoyed every bit of it, and again, seeing our DD's facial expressions throughout the show brought us both to tears. This really was quite the teary trip for us!
We were gonna try to get FP's for Kali, but they were already gone at 12:30... Thought that was weird, but we decided we would wait and go on it later. We grabed a pretzel to munch on, and then headed over to the Safari. It was pretty good, we saw quite a few of the animals, but it was extremely hot at this point in the day and I think alot of them were just hiding in the shade and sleeping.
We went over to Kalia nd decided we were all hot and needed to cool off, so got in line, ablout 30 minutes later we were getting on. DD thought she was so special to be wearing the "bracelet" that said she was tall enough to ride, hehe, she was so cute about it, showing everyone the rest of the day! DD sat beside DH and he does not like getting wet, so I was hoping the two of them would get the wave... but nope! lucky me and the guy I was sitting with got it full force right on us! It felt so good though!!! DD was cracking up and pointing at me saying "look mommy! you are SOAKED!" I actually enjoy getting the wave and it was a great ride through for us! When we got off we decided to walk through the Maharajah Jungle Trek. DH and DD were way more interested in it all than I was, maybe its because I was still so hot, and was getting tired, but I was not really that into watching animals lay around and nap or eat...
169.jpg

After the walk through we decided to head back "home". We took a few funny pics at the DVC booth and then a few of the tree, and off to Coronado we went!

171.jpg

After a late nap for DD we headed to the pool, then headed to El Centro to eat dinner. I started to realize that the Pepper Market has lost quite a bit of the selections I used to enjoy! Disappointed with my choice of dinner, I ate my cheese burger, and we were off to the bus stop to head to Epcot! We arrived at Epcot about 8 and decided to scout out a spot for Illuminations.
183.jpg

We sat beside a very nice family who were here from England, they had a little boy with them about DD's age and the tow of them had a great time playing to pass the time. DH and myself had a few margaritas, darn they are good! The show started, and the tears started flowing, I got a few really great photos of DD during the show, and maybe you all wil see what made me tear up so badly, not just the fact that I already get teary wit ROE as it is, but seeing my daughters reaction, was the icing on the cake...
189.jpg

190.jpg

191.jpg

It was EMH this evening so after ROE we headed to Saorin, waited about 20 minutes, and we were flying again! We decided to try out Nemo after Soarin, this was a first for me and DH also, so it was great to experience things with DD for all of our's first time. It was ok, I wouldn't cry if we missed it most trips. At this point it was getting close to 10:30, so we decided to head out, on the way we all decided we were hungry, and we stopped in to the Electric Umbrella, grabbed some Chicken nuggets, and hung out in there for a while, it ended up being 11 by the time we left the park.
193.jpg

It had been another long day, but with that nap mid day we all were doing really good. We had stopped into Mouse Gear and sent a few things back to the hotel for DD and a salt and pepper shaker for me, I really love having that option when staying on site! Anyway, day 4 will come tomorrow!
