Very true. I think they don’t want to discourage guests from spending money at resorts. After all, people driving can eat and shop elsewhere. But they do want to leave that uncertainty for people less familiar, like is it possible to get towed after 3 hours.
Have you ever seen that happen or read a report from someone who had a car towed? I asked about the possibility of getting a car towed after 3 hours when eating at the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian. The one at the Contemporary said "Ma'am, we're not in the business of towing cars." The one at GF just said "Please just enjoy yourself and don't worry about your car."

Wow, what happened to this thread? Leave for a bit and now it turned into a bus discussion?

OP hope you’re doing well.

Yep I’ve never seen towing either. What is said in MDE, up to 3 hours? Many wonder what happens after that and fill in the blanks themselves from outside experiences like towing and fees, or lol security noting a demerit in your WDW Citizenry File.

Where does it say that in MDE? I’ve seen people talk about the 3 hours online but I’ve never found it in Disney’s policies. Maybe I’m not looking in the right place.

The only thing I found was that an early version of Tables in Wonderland said you got 3 hours of complimentary parking when you used the card but that language was omitted from later versions. Now the card is gone.

They won’t tow. More trouble than it’s worth

From time to time…they would put those obnoxious stickers on windows

That used to P!$$ people off!
It was often local APs and dvc who would violate the lot and get the sticker.

Nobody wants an orange sticker on their ridiculously oversized gas hog

Sorry I wasn’t clear. It was meant as question because I hadn’t taken a good look recently. I remember seeing it not that long ago in the last few years. After doing a quick search thru MDE and planDisney, any wording regarding 3 hour limit seems gone. Could be I’m cracking up. I’m remembering it listed on resort info pages.

I accept your apology. It's nice to know that a few members are big enough to realize that I am right concerning each and every topic and they are wrong. This generally occurs because a significant number of people are misinformed about science and lack the cognitive skills needed to logically process information. There are two types of people in this world:

1) Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

From what I could find out, there never was any written 3 hour limit (other than Tables). Some people said they were told by security at busy times that they should limit their resort visit to 3 hours but that was several years ago.

It brings us back to the same point: inconsistency.

And yes…big orange stickers were tried at contemporary - in particular - when people were feeling ornery.

Take the conservative approach with all things Disney…it leads to exceeding expectations on things or nothing. Not grief.

I found this mention from Oct 2021

“When you have a confirmed dining reservation, you are allowed to park at that resort for a maximum of three hours. This gives you enough time to check-in, eat, take some photos, and possibly take a mosey through the resort’s gift shop. If you took slightly longer, I’m sure it would be fine.”

Just feels like that wording used to pop up often while planning trips on WDW site. Regardless, it’s now gone for the most part.

All due respect to Tracy lol, but I’m wondering where she got the 3 hour limit. I’ve never been able to trace the limit back to any official WDW policy.

It wouldn’t be surprising. It’s tough to get Disney to put anything in writing. They like to be free to change policies according to their variable business needs.

They use to give you a piece of paper to put in window way back when they even stopped with that. No longer do they even bother saying there is a “time limit”

That was a really long time ago! In any event, I wouldn’t worry about being towed after 3 hours. They won’t tow and it would be near impossible to figure out who was there for what purpose.

Exactly. Thats why i think they basically went to checking bands. If you have a reservation go enjoy. If not than i think they check to see if you have a park reservation if you do turn around if not than you have a shot if getting in… only a shot with a good reason.

About 25 years ago , I went to the Epcot ticket window and one could get a one hour complimentary pass in the park to buy a merchandise item .
