MVMCP and the weather

We'll be going this Thursday and they are now forecasting an 80% chance of rain. Will the show still go on if it's raining? Parades? Wishes? Anyone with MVMCP experience with bad weather?

Interesting. I would assume that if the shows and parades are canceled you would be able to get some sort of refund (since I'm sure that is the main reason people go to the MVMCP). But I have no idea for sure.

We thought about going to the MVMCP next week, but I don't know if it would be worth it for our group.

While things may be different this year, in the past it's been like any typical rain day - the show goes on. I can remember one night in 2001 waiting for the late parade. While it stopped raining, it was so stinkin' hot and humid it was seriously uncomfortable. Another year we almost froze to death. But the park stayed open. Maybe it would depend on just how hard it was raining?

Eh...yeah, I have to be there for all of them...woo hoo...

This should get you started:

CTS-Not if it's raining or even sprinkling
Twas-Most likely in any condition
Wishes-Most likely in any condition...some exceptions to some product I believe
Parade-So far I've seen it go out when it was lighting sprinkling/heavily misting...but a heavy downpour that lasts a while, and you can forget it, they might push out the short version
Freebies-yeah yeah yeah, they'll probably be there all night :)

Have fun when you go!

Scott - that is not the case.

A few years ago (WannaBeBelle) can back me up on this, our MVMCP started out beautifully. We walked down Main Street playing in the snow when the bottom fell out. We ran for a popcorn stand and stayed under there for 40 minutes. They cancelled the first parade at that point. We ran to get our MVMCP pins and then to get our soggy picture taken. After an hour and 1/2 we had had enough.

We went to guest relations on the way out and they were offering (A) an address where to mail your wrist bands to in order to get a full refund or (B) one day hopper passes.

We took the hopper passes and swam back to the buses. It never stopped raining that night.

A lot of folks on the bus thought they were out the money for the party - I made a few new friends that night by giving them the info. I guess most folks don't think about checking guest relations. Disney can't control the weather - BUT when you buy a hard ticket event and all the special things are cancelled what's the point.

I believe Marie was able to go another night and simply switched her tix for a night that was not sold out.

This happend to me for the Candlelight Processional one year as well, I ended up seeing the show two days later under the dinner package badges.

Have fun and Good Luck with the weather!! :xmas:

It depends on how much it rains and for how long. I fit is extensive they will wait for it to stop for a small amount of time for the parade. If it is sprinkling no one cares wishes and parades still happen. worst case senario would be hard rain for a long time no wishes and no parade. Also disney will not refund any tickets when you purches them you give them a vocal confermation that yuo relize your tickets are non-refundable. Tehy usually will switch to a diffrent day if it is avalable.
Hope this helps.

We were completely soaked, this was not drizzle, nor did it stop. Even in ponchos we were completly drenched. That particular MVMCP was a complete washout.

I took the one day hoppers in exchange for my tickets, my friend Anthony opted for the refund by mail since he had 6 tickets. I assure you he DID get his money refunded.

Absolutely correct!!!! I did switch my ticket to another night with no problem. Guest Relations were wonderful about it. Also this is a good reason to plan something like this as EARLY in your trip as you can!!!! Hope the weather co-operates for ya!!!!!!! Belle
