Must See Attractions Closing Soon

Disney has decided to do away with the Campus Rep program, so as of August 1 I'll no longer be a cast member for the first time since 1999. A little sad, but I suppose it's time to move on.

That said, I'll be taking my last trip to WDW as a CM in July for the Tower of Terror 20th anniversary. This will probably be my last trip for a while - at least a year, but possibly as many as 2 or 3 years, as I will now have to pay normal people Disney prices, and I don't live in Florida so I can't get resident discounts.

Other than Indiana Jones (Epic) and American Idol, what do you guys think are some of the must-see attractions and locations that will be closed or significantly modified within the next few years?

Well, there's still the rumor going around about Maelstrom... apparently it'll be modified to be themed for Frozen in the relatively near future.

I'm not really sure what this thread is looking for - there are a few too many threads around about rumors of closings, and I'm sure that not a lot of "normal" people here will have sympathy for you having to pay "normal people prices" after 15 years of discounts.

Not to butt in, but I don't think he was looking for sympathy; I read that as "since I won't be able to afford to come back for a while, what should I make sure is at the top of my priority list in case it's gone before I can come back?"

Depends on how long you'll be away.

I'd do Indy and Beauty and the Beast. VOTLM and backlot tour too. Maelstrom, Imagination and Energy too though depending on funding they may still mostly or all be there when you return.
Has there been any movement on updates to Imagination or Energy?

Sorry if I misunderstood your intentions, but as I said there are multiple threads about closings and rumors of closings. Why start another?

If your not coming back for 2 to 3 years, I think Soarin' and Maelstrom are attractions go on for sure. There has been talk about Soarin' going to get updated, but that is going to happen after Maelstrom. The Soarin' update is pointed at 2016 or 2017.

Please forgive my ignorance in not knowing this, but TOT is celebrating an anniversary? Is there something special planned? We will be there in July and it's one of our favorite rides, was curious if HS does anything to commemorate this? Many thanks!

I have taken many trips to Disney Hollywood Studios but only seen Idol once (not a big fan on the TV show). The one time I saw it I thought it was pretty good. They had some good singers. I have seen the Indy show several times, not everytime I was at the Studios. With the thought of those closing, I most likely will see them on my up coming trip in October.

Sorry to hear about you losing your job. I hope you get to come back soon.
