When I was last at the MK in January 2007, I was told by a CM that the mural of Disney characters at the exposition hall was currently not on view for the public....has the mural since then become available for public viewing?

Ah The old mural...I saw it in 2005...I still remember being the The Walt Disney Story and the 25th Anniversary Welcome Center until it faded into Yesterland...But I did recall seeing it in January of 07..I just kept walking and looked down the hallway up to a blocked area to see it still there...It's probably the best Picture that is Frozen in Time..

It's tucked way in the back, and only open during certain times, as AAA uses it for special events.

EDIT: Wrong Mural. The one in question is indeed blocked off now.

Actually they don't use that area for AAA stuff. Here is a picture I took of it before I left my CP. It was hard to get the whole thing in since it goes around the corner and I had to try to not get too much backstage stuff in there.

what i dont get... whats the hallway used for... its just a connection to the old walt disney story theaters... and dont they use one for stuff right now? or has that been blocked off as well too? (The other theater is blocked off completely and used for meetings and such I believe.)

The theater and hall are blocked off. For the 4 months of my CP the only thing the theater was used for was to house the Thomas Kincade paintings the day they came out, meeting at the end of our tour the first day of work, and our holiday potluck meals in my area. The hallway is blocked because it is where the entertainment break room is and its a really small room so it has stuff in the hallway.

the mural is blocked off because that area is currently where the characters go to get their water and snack breaks before they come right back out to meet with the guests.

I would love to see that Mural again...Updated of course.

That would take allot of work, the last time they updated this thing was for The Great Mouse Detective in 1986! They would have to do every DAC from Oliver and Company onward. I wonder if there would be any space if they decided to do this?

I could spend an hour looking at that thing! :o
Who's above the Walrus, the card and Merlin? Are those guys from The Sword In the Stone too? (It's been ages since I last saw that one)

Is the little theater and all the photo character cut-outs for photo opportunities still open?

Yes it is. Most of the time they show old cartoons in there too. Sometimes it is closed because AAA does princess storybook time in there and DVC sometimes uses it for presentations but most of the time its open

Yes...the taller one is Sir Kay, the guy Wart was apprenticing. Not sure of the other one's name.

Also in that part of the pic...Mowgli needs a tan!
