DHS MuppetVision 3-D's Future: Potential Disney Park Venues and Vision Pro Immersive Experience

Today's news counters the claim Disney doesn't care about Muppets: a new "Muppet Show" special announced for next year with Sabrina Carpenter...in the Muppet Theater. Although I couldn't pick her out of the crowd, I realize that name as one of the biggest, most famous names today...anywhere.
Which I think makes it an even stranger move on Disneys part to close muppetvision. Every thing else they’re doing suggests a return to prominence for the muppets akin to the early to mid 2010s when the muppet movie(2011) came out. So why close one of the most important parts of muppet history as you plan all this?

For the record it's under the 20th century of the company that's helping produce this and they can be a bit more edgy instead of ABC studios.

And we could've had this in the early 00's

I see the tv special with Sabrina as a ploy to market and possibly even introduce the Muppet characters to the age bracket that has an interest in her.
Marketing , pure and simple.

In Disney’s eyes they likely see the Muppets as ‘old fashioned’ and in need of yet another attempt to make them appealing to today’s young generation of Park goers.

The nostalgia throwbacks of this special will rope in the older and original era fans, and Sabrina will attract her own fans and that generation age group.

Marketing ‘genuis’.
Gotta drum up demand or the upcoming coaster overlay and any potential future sales interests.

Excellent choice. In genre, Sabrina's music can be best described as at the center of a three way venn diagram between levitating bedroom balladry, unkempt psychadelic grunge, and uptempo pop-rock, although perhaps more instrumental to her musics success than the production is the lyrics and themes. She sings with honesty, specificity, and humor, conveying the abstract pangs of angst and heartbreak as a vivid image of the rebellion and sadness of youth.

She's way more sexually charged than you would think Disney would be comfortable with.

Not going to link to them because a certain moderator would probably cry, but 'Nonsense outros' and 'Juno positions'.

At this point the Muppets could use something extra bold. I've liked all the new Muppets projects but they're definitely very safe choices. This is something that I find quite interesting in how they handle it. I don't expect it to be super sexually charged or anything but Sabrina Carpenter is certainly a very specific choice and imo a great one considering the audience they're trying to bring the Muppets.

Oh I'm not complaining at all, the Muppets probably need to lean into being more adult as they are unlikely to draw a huge kids following at this point. Was just pointing out that it was an interesting decision.

It's somewhat fascinating how she has been able to be so sexual but also still come off as family friendly.

Could definitely seem them straddling the line properly with nothing super overt but still some underlying jokes that adults would get but go over the heads of kids (which kinda fits classic Muppets)

She also already has a Disney connection, playing a main character on Girl Meets World and Milo Murphy's Law (with Weird Al)
