Maybe they will do that someday, bork. Funny thing is, there is already a Disney Studios and it is in Burbank, California,. Okay, that is not funny, but how about this: With the exception of maybe one day per year, it is closed to the public.

That's right - you can't even buy a ticket to tour the REAL Disney Studios! (You can get in if a show is being filmed before a studio audience and you are able to score tickets - currently 3 Simple Rules is one such show).

You know what I really like about this subject? The fact that the Muppets were originally planned to have a "land" inside the Studios. So now that Disney's got their rights, I'd rather see that come to be than new attractions scattered all over the place. We could even have a kind of "gate" separating their part from the rest of the park, like the entrance to the Muppet Theater, or "The Muppet Studios, if you will. Of course, that'd mean getting rid of Pizza Planet, but I think it's a worthy sacrifice.

Rumor has it that MGM may even acquire Pixar. I say, let them (MGM) go ahead and do that. Then, Disney buys MGM and would have in a sneaky way acquired Pixar as well!

They should not replace GMR, but simply update it with newer films. I believe there are already plans in the works for this. The Great Muppet Movie Ride is an entirely different kind of ride, though it does satire the GMR!

The whole around around MuppetVision 4D was originally designated for this land. Gonzo's Piza Parlar is already another resteraunt. Also, there is land dedicated around the Indiana Jones Stunt Show for an entirely new version of the Indiana Jones ride. The Auto Stunt Show coming in is an entirelt different type of stunt show, so there's room for both shows!

Now, if only Disney could settle their dispute with Spielberg, the Studios would also get Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin! The Studios has the potential of becoming the best of all four parks!!!!

I love that idea. If disney bought MGM we could finally see a Bond attraction.hahahaha:drevil:

Does any one know if they have anything plan to be annoced for next years big press confrence at the parks. Know that Disney owns the muppets hopefully this will get the go next year to open after motures in action. They are redoing new york street and the theater that use to hold the Hunchback show is demolished or being demolished so i think it will happen soon since they are redoing that area.

I think they could do it if they want. They may need to close Pizza Planet and the Italian Resturaunt for the Gonzo Pizza joint. If the Backlot Tour doesn't open back up, they could use that and the Al's Toy Barn area for the show building, or close Muppet Vision 4d, and make half of the ride there...

I never actually heard of these plans before...but what can I say, I'm obsessed with the MK. These idea sounds very cool, and I could see it happen, maybe? But i'm not sure about the same name as GMR...

Do you mean they're putting in an Indiana Jones ride like they have in California????? That would be unbelievably FABULOUS!! :sohappy:

I can shed light on this. Let me start off by saying, that, if Jim Hill says it was planned, (Muppet Wise) you can consider it to be fact. Why for? Well, oh boy, I'm starting to sound like Jim himself. Heh heh. Jim Hill has more connections to the Disney-Henson Projects then Disney, Henson, or even Hill will admit to. Hill actually was involved in the planning of Muppet Studios. Not in the largest way, but he was. Where on earth you're going to find evidence to support this, that's up to you. For now, you'll just have to believe what I say. And these stories, they aren't from CMs. They are from current and former Imagineers I know.

There is a lot of proof if you just walk around Muppet Studios as it stands right now. The Studios buildings in that area of the park are all based on the Muppets. There's even an archway as you enter the Muppet Studios where the sign for the land once stood. (Yes, the sign was installed there at one time during the construction phase. When WDI realized that there would only be one Muppet attraction there, it was taken down.) The area of the studios is all done in brick work, and is all built like it done just for the Muppets. Muppet Vision 3-D's Line Cue uses quite a bit of the posters that were created for the Muppet Studios. Most of them actually relating to real scenes in the Muppet Movie Ride. The large Fountain in front of Muppet-vision also has the Muppets in their movie making places, with Fozzie at the camera.

But it goes deeper folks. There is real proof that Muppet Studios was planned. Do yourself a favor, and the next time you go on Muppet-Vision 3-D, take a good look at the crates at the front of the Pre-show. You'll find the words "Muppet Studios." Yep. It's all real folks. Right down to Gonzo's Pandomium Pizza Parlor. Every bit of Jim Hill's stuff on Muppet Studios is 100% correct. No, that's not true on his other stuff... though the Green Matterhorn is true as well... the one that was in Disneyland, but that's another story.

Now, what other Muppet stuff can you find? Well, spend an hour just walking around Muppet Studios. You'll make more connections then you ever thought possible. From the props used in Muppet Vision... (yes, the Gazebo background and the firetruck are there) to things that just pop out at you if you know your Muppets. It's all there.

Now, this all brings us to the question, "Will it happen?"

And the answer:

Well, some will. WDI is currently working on other projects, such as Everest, Stitch, and Gemini. But, most Imagineers still want to do Muppet Studios. And since Eisner's on his way out, and he knows it, Eisner may greenlight this project... as Eisner really, truly is obsessed with the Muppets. And Eisner would be remembered as a good guy... one who got us the Muppets... and built Muppet Studios.

With that said, a lot will be changing in that area of the Studios, so don't be suprised if Muppet-Vision closes for a rehab soon. Along with that whole side of the park.

Okay, now, on to Indy. Current Expansion plans call for the Indiana Jones Adventure to be built on the site of the Backlot Express and/or the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. The Indy Stunt Show may see "The End of Days" very soon as CA's governator would like to put it. And Eisner... He will be "ERASED."

Thanks for the insight Bill.
Be warned, I think you and i are the only ones at WDWMagic who actually like Jim Hill.

We Hill fans seem few and far between.

I love his stories/articles. I've learned alot about Disney History from reading his different sites.

I like Jim's stuff as well. I like his style of writing, and he seems to have good sources, although as with anything, you can't expect him to be right 100% of the time.

And Bill, are you suggesting that Mr. Hill was an imagineer? That's why he has so many sources in Imagineering?

I like most of Hill's stuff too. Thanks for all that info Bill. Adding Muppets Land and Indy would do so much for balancing out the crowds from the TOT/RnR area. With all the projects going on now, I'm not sure how long it would take for those to appear, if they do, but it really wouldn't matter to me as long as they do actually appear at the Studios.

Muppets in 3D is my favorite attraction at the Studios, and I would LOVE to see even more of the Muppets there. And I think you're right, stingrock23 - it would balance out the lopsided traffic pattern created by ToT and the RnR Coaster.

No, didn't say that. But he did have a big influence on Muppet Studios... I've heard stories from current imagineers about how picky Jim Hill was... and how things have to be just right in Muppet Vision...

Though my WDI friend wouldn't exactly say what Jim's relation was to all of this, except for what I've stated above.

I also agree that the Muppet Studios would make a great additon to MGM.

I also hope that they'll finally build Roger Rabbit's Hollywood and the Indiana Jones Adventure at MGM in the future as welll...and with Eisner on the way, maybe those creative partnerships will finally be restored, so we can finally get all of those additions and more.:sohappy:
