Muppet Great Movie Ride finally coming?

While it would be cool, i dont see any of these as economically feasible in the forseable future, with the current state of affairs when it comes to Disney Management and the still recovering economy. Bear in mind, Parks and Resorts took in less money in 2003 than 2002 according to the Annual Report. (Granted they sold the Angels but still)

I cant see any new capital investments being started until we see the attendance results of Philharmagic / M:S; especially with the motor stunt show under constriction. Perhaps once that is finished, and if new management is in place by then, perhaps those ideas will be revisited.

But if you ask the average 10-15 year old what a "Muppet" is, odds are they wouldn't have a clue. It looks like Disney missed their window of opportunity for a new "muppet land" in MGM. However, if they relaunch the show, my guess is that that it will be a 'wait-n-see' approach.

Wow, this Muppets and Indy stuff sounds great. It will really help relieve the crowds around TOT. Plus, it will give us more of what we want in MGM: Rides! I think if the Disney-MGM Studios gets these attractions then it will become a truly awesome theme park.

Yep.....everyone had to have watched Muppet Babies...:D

Anyways....Muppet Studios needs to be built ASAP. The Motor Stunt Show isn't going to help with those horrible crowds on Sunset, all between Tower and RnRC. If they brought in The Great Muppet Movie Ride then maybe a lot of those crowds would flock to that end, and even better if Indy Jones Adventure came, because if that happens, i'm sure Tower and RnRC wait times will decline a bit (but hey....better for us!).

I'm 13 and i love the muppets. The muppets are realy cool.

Yes I belive to that indy and a muppet studio will help with the traffic flow from sunset.along with the auto stunt show.

I think it will be annocced by next year. well at least the muppet studios. not saying it will. that's just what i think. Because eisner term is ending soon. I whould think he would want to stay longer then being kicked out by next year and to leave on a good note. and this whould also help prove that eisner didn't buy the muppts for alot of mula for no reason.I see it as a very good posibility we will see the muppet studios and mabe indy within 3 years.

again just my opinion.

I'm guessing new Muppet attractions will come before Indy...

Just my guess. :)

I don't think Indy will even be announced until the Lights, Motors, Action! Stunt Spectacular is finished & running for a little bit.

It's nice to walk down New York Street at 10-30, when everyone is still in the TOT and RNRC area. NO one is there. Give it an hour though, and that whole part of the park is packed. So people do spread equally, it just takes time.

As for the Muppet Studios part, I can't Imagine it being it all that big. They just replaced all those facades, and are still building new ones, so I doubt this whole studios concept will go beyond that area of Al's Toy "Bayan". That means It has The whole Pizza Planet/ 4D courtyard, Mama Merose's resturaunt, and the character greeting area. It's a rather small area, but if they cut of the entrance from NY Street into the area, and make one entrance by the Miss Piggy Billboard, and the other by Star tours, it will add some considerable space.

Oh gosh, all I can think about is, when people are driving over the MGM entrance to the MK/Epcot entrance, cranes will be in that area for forever. They have the Stunt Show ones there right now, and soon after, The Muppet Studios cranes *may* be there

Bill, I'd just like to say that your posts are very informative. Thanks for the info!

Anyways, I like the idea of more Muppet-themed attractions at Disney-MGM. I just have one question: where is there room? You could replace Pizza Planet with Gonzo's Pizza or whatever it was supposed to be, but where would you put the new Muppets ride? The Motor Stunt Show Spectacular has taken up much of the backot and they are making new facades in New York Street already. Can somebody tell me? I'm just wondering. :)

I hope The Great Movie Ride isn't replaced. It was apart of the original plan for Disney-MGM and it would be a shame to see it go. It's a great ride to me.

Okay, the room you speak of is there. Strictly Speaking, Pizza Planet would be replaced by something, but not Gonzo. Gonzo would replace Mama Melrose's. The Muppet Movie Ride would be built behind Muppet Vision 3-D. Now, there is room there. The Backlot theater was built as a temporary structure, and the foundation for a giant show building covers that entire area. There is plenty of room. You just have to know where to look. :)

I would also like see a muppet dark ride going into Pizza Planet...
No proof of that anywhere, it's just something cool I thought up. Hee hee.
