@wdwmagic hearing anything new on any parade coming? Wondering as well if that last rumor of PTN returning to DL in 2025 for their 70th may potentially mean something could also happen at WDW so both coasts have a nighttime parade around the same time.

Also, any hope for FOF returning to normal Cast levels?

Or is MK completely stuck at 2022 levels for everything until someone decides MK can have more Entertainment Money?

As much as I don't hate DE, that money should have gone to at least the Toy Soldier Unit in MOUACT than DAH 2024!

Anyone else wonder if the future of light parades could be in the sky with drones like Paris is doing? Depending of course how popular it turns out. Of course it also greatly depends on if WDW and DL can actually have a drone show safely.

I hope US parks dont get any ideas from this, we need a actual nighttime parade not something in the sky to try to fill the void.

Well first it will depend on if they even can have a drone show at MK or DL due to safety. If they can and this proves to be very popular in Paris, I could see it happening. Not ideal but there’s always the Springs they could put another drone show into or possibly the SSL replacing the Electrical Water Pageant. But that would likely require no boats or the ferry to run.

But I do agree I would hate to see drones replace an actual parade.

Drones should be part of a night time show in DAK over the water there.
To me drones are boring. Worse than that it will be used by team Disney Orlando as an excuse to replace fireworks. And then someone on here will even say how they're actually more expensive than fireworks.

I do think it's neat the shapes the designs they can do in the sky. But they're slow moving and it's more of a "ooh and ahh" and not a " wow!" that the fireworks can provide.

Or they go do the DLP route and have pyro on drones? ;)

Which is exactly why I think they should be used at DAK since they cannot use fireworks there. It would provide something cool in the sky to complement the activity lower on the water.

Or use flame throwers:). Not unlike they have in World of Color just perhaps a bit more extensively and more use for the finale.

But yes as a compliment to what's going on the water or ground level drones are a fun added show element. I don't disagree in that kind of use, but as they are now, I feel they are not capable of producing that overwhelming wow effect that massive jets of water or pyro (flames and /or fireworks) can produce. Drones are neat, just not "wow" finale kind of thing.

But can they be done safely at DAK is the question.

Why wouldn't drones be able to be used safely at DAK? They would have them over the water so not above any guests.

I wouldn't make a drone-centric show, but something that has floats/fountains/fire and obviously music and use the drones as a more higher in the sky element to compliment the other features. And from what I gather drones work better for a show where the audience faces one direction (as opposed to an "in the round" setup like Epcot) so DAK works well for that given the seating on the waterfront.
