See, this is exactly what's wrong with Disney. A single ladder attraction - sure, that's groundbreaking. But to clone 'em all over the place - it's like what they're doing with spinning Dumbo clones. Pretty soon they'll put a ladder attraction in every park.

I'm going to write a really long letter to Eisner to express my disappointment.

Well my inside sources confirm your fears:

**** SPOILER ALERT ****
Turns out that if the ride systems for M:PLC and M:Ladder work out as well as expected they will be reused in Forbidden Mountain. Guests will have an exciting climb up the ladder and when they reach the "summit" they will see the Yeti sitting in the chair. Of course the ride will have major theming (mostly involving fog machines). Expect the ladder to start out as a rocky gray/brown color at the bottom but as you approach the top the ladder will be painted white to simulate snow.

I believe they will be using the 8 foot ladder as this is a thrill ride.
**** SPOILER ALERT ****

That's pretty much the same inside scoop that I got from a top level imagineer riding the bus next to me.

(Boy, with all the complaints we have about the bus service, it's amazing how those imagineers are always riding the buses around!)

We must have been on the same bus ride!

I don't mean to be rude or doubt your sources but I will believe this when I see it. I do not think Eisner will up the purse strings far enough to fund Mission:Picnic Table. It would be a whole new technology they would have to develop.

However, I could see one of the other parks getting a watered down version of M:L (something like a Mission:Step Stool but with different theming).

Didn't you hear?

Disney have run out of money, so instead of some cool astronaut looking guides, you have your new hosts...

Mr Ladder and Miss Chair...

Actually, this is great news! The state-of-the-art "painting" technology sounds absolutely groundbreaking!

You know, I heard on the Jim Hill media site that the original plan was for a 25 foot firefighter's ladder, but the accountants and Eisner insisted the imagineers scale back their plans. But I don't believe anything I see on that site...

Please for safety sake I hope you all remember the top of the ladder is not a step.:D

And also, remember not to leave any heavy objects on the platform provided by the ladder. The WDI is trying very hard to come up with a lighting system for this attraction but appears to be having trouble with the reflection of the metal surface of the ladder.
