Mr. Lightbeer

I miss this silly guy. I know Mr. Lightbeer is in WDW until August 30th, but I can't imagine life in here without him.

So, now that some time has passed, I'm hoping Steve will consider commuting Lightbeer's sentence to 'time served at WDW' and offer him an opportunity to return. Lightbeer's probably too proud to beg so I'll do it for him....PLEEEEEZE Steve, give it some thought, will ya?

Besides, without Lightbeer as a member, I'm the biggest here! :D

You said it, not me!!!;) Besides, I'd never think that.

How about it ,wdwmagic ? Can Lightbeer be forgiven and returned from exile? Maybe you could set up a new forum for exchanging insults. If anyone is tempted to make a sarcastic/risque remark, he/she has to take it to the forum. Just an idea. It would be a truly "enter at your own risk" area... no hurt feelings allowed!!

Hi.

I dont want to go over this *again* - but to let me summarise.

I gave the guy 3 private warnings, 1 public warning. All were ignored. So after much thought I took the decision to remove his account, which is a non-reversable action. He then also attempted to use the forums under diferent usernames - so we had a fun game of cat and mouse while I tracked his alternate usernames.

I will not be re-instating his account under any circumastances.

PS. Lightbeer has been begging - he has made several, and to use his words - *lame* emails, asking for me to reactivate his account. He should have considered the consequences of his actions earlier.

Hey Steve....how 'bout working some of your magic and telling us who ELSE is in here under aliases...

I'm sure a quick check of IP addresses tied to usernames ought to do the trick...then we can tell who the phonies are and who are genuine. I despise frauds and want nothing to do with them.

Lightbeer, for better or worse, was the real thing...perhaps crude by most standards but never a single pretense. How many here can make that claim?

And I feel more comfortable telling you I disagree with your decision although I'm sure you already knew which side I come down on.

It's your football, it's your game....we play or move on.

Jason...I would write a dissertation if I thought it would make a difference...

Perhaps I come from a different breed than most, or maybe it's life experiences, that molds the way we live our life and make decisions. Two times I had the enemy in my crosshairs and didn't pull the trigger, although many times I had to. The difference is whether or not you feel you "have" to do something or not. Steve has decided that this is the hill he's willing to die on and so he pulled the trigger for better or worse. If he feels that strongly about the decision, who am I to question it? What irritates me are members so willing to jump on Lightbeer as if they have some moral ground on which to stand, particularly those that pretended to be his friend and encouraged him. I think that says more about them, than Lightbeer. Nuf said.

I miss Lightbeer also. He lives quite close to me and I felt that we had a great understanding, a lot in common and a good laugh together, and with many others on the forum in general. I think that the way he was, was just his own sense of humour.

Unfortunately some liked it but many appeared not to, and take offence quickly. The rights and wrongs of this could be discussed all day and all night.

I have said from the start that this is Steve's Forum and he must do what he sees fit to keep it operational.

I just think that it is a shame that it has come to this, but if Steve has decided that he should not return, then thats how it has to be.

Mark...
people have a tendency to misunderstand things....take as an example this post....it originally started out as a request for Steve to reconsider his decision....that's all....reconsider it....YET, I found myself taking sides on an issue that has no sides. There is no democracy in a private forum.

What happen to our 'friend,' Mr. Lightbeer is tantamount to encouraging someone to jump off a building and then criticizing the fool for doing it. We all laughed at Lightbeer's so-called antics, played along with him, and responded in like-kind to them but are still willing to shrug our shoulders and point fingers at him when the guy takes a hit. I have no beef with Steve, or Steve's decision, but am perturbed with some of the reaction of my fellow members towards Lightbeer's departure. Guess you don't really know who your friends are, do ya?
