Maybe it's boring stuff to you but the line for the three caballeros has been ridiculous. Some people obviously love it. Disney used to be appreciated for doing little things like this. Now they're ridiculed whenever a new offering is any less than earth shattering.
I think its because there is a sense that these little things are more half assed than thoughtfully considered.

Maybe it's because, if "Disney used to be appreciated for doing little things like this", then it's stuff that they used to do, and stuff that they should still be doing, so when they make a big deal out of it doing it now, as part of a marketing campaign, as "Limited Time Magic", then that's what people are complaining about? They used to do things, stopped doing them, and then brought them back, and expect people to be impressed. Maybe they shouldn't have been removed in the first place?

It would be the same if they brought Jiminy Cricket back to DAK as "Limited Time Magic". He's the logo of the Wildlife Conservation Fund, therefore he should be at Rafiki's Planet Watch year round.

It's like the Splash Mountain refurb, people shouldn't be congratulating Disney for how good it looks, and for fixing it - Disney should be refurbing it anyway.

As for The Three Caballeros, maybe they should be out every Cinco de Mayo, or even year round?

People are probably not being impressed by "Limited Time Magic" because what they are doing seems to mostly fall into two categories...
  1. Things that Disney should already be doing/used to do (Long Lost Friends, Three Caballeros)
  2. Ways to get money out of you (buy a shirt based on a shop that we created in order to get money out of you)
I don't know - just a thought...

Using that logic they should go ahead and have the Christmas parade year round. Permanent flower and garden festival. Every weekend is Star Wars weekend.

Sometimes things are special BECAUSE they're not always offered. Part of the delight of meeting a rare character is BECAUSE it's rare. I agree with your point about Splash Mountain though. Routine maintenance shouldn't be in this category.

This is not part of Limited Time Magic - it's to prep for the Disney Dreamers Everywhere group (search on Facebook). DDE had their opening ceremonies at Epcot today and rumor is they have an event at DAK this week as well.

WDWCharacterHunt posted two photos as well from this morning and this afternoon:

Thanks for posting Yzma, you beat me to it. I do have one more image without me in it (though it's a little blurry):

This would be true if the parks hadn't slowly eliminated all "extra" characters from rotation. After decades of character variety and placement, the Fab Five, chipmunks, Princesses, Stitch and Pooh are available at every turn with very few exceptions. As recently as 2007 DAK had a slew of characters in rotation - all gone.

Things that used to be every day that are now Limited Time Magic = sad.

Thank your typical WDW guest who demands to be able to see their precious snowflakes favorite character at a set time, while waiting for their fast pass time at Town Square Sweatshop

That is the most awkward face character I think Disney has ever had. The body suit and jazz shoes.... Poor guy
I remember seeing Body-Stocking Mowgli in the MK parade several years ago. He had a huge forced smile and when he waved at the crowd and shouted, "Hi everybody!!!", everyone in the crowd stared at him in stunned silence.
Very awkward.

I would imagine it being awkward! Just look at him! It's kind of disturbing in a way. I feel bad for the poor man.

Hmmm....kinda disturbing. Reminds me of when they had the Tarzan meet and greet who was also half naked. Just seems not-quite-right.

Ooohh...Tarzan is a entirely different matter.
He looked great. The ladies sure thought so, too.
Last time i saw him and Jane doing M&Gs, his line was longer then any of the other characters being offered.

Tarzan rocked.

Half-naked is fine...hey, it is hot in Florida!

So...Mowgli .....

I seem to remember seeing him in 1989 on the old *jungle ruins* float that at that time was in the MK day parade. He was on it with Baloo and Louie, and some random monkey friends.
At that time, he looked like he was played by a actual boy...pre-teen or early teens.
I way well just be not remembering correctly....perhaps i need to dig out my old photos.

Anyway, this brings up the question : Why is he not played by a younger person?
I am assuming it has to do with age requirements for hiring and performing.

I like having Mowgli around, but agree that having someone cast at a younger age might look a little more accurate to the characters personality.
This is not a knock to those who are *friends* with him....just more of a general curiousity.
