Trip Report Moving Maddy In! Experiencing Disney in a New Way

Several months back, Maddy had decided she wanted to apply for the Disney College Program. Crystal knew she had interest, but I had no idea. So this past November, I got the surprise that not only had she applied, but already had been accepted. As much as I love Disney, I wasn’t sure what to think since she was only starting her freshman year at USC. But, of course I was certain she could handle things. Now, here we are 24 hours away from making the last 6 and a half hour drive from Columbia, SC to Disney for a family weekend over Easter and her move in on Monday!

The bottom is the gluten free version. The bread was awful! Hard as a rock. GF bread really can’t be microwaved when they are frozen. The fries were really good

Maddy loved the Land Salad! Brayden and I shared the tuna bowl and sliders. We enjoyed them.

It’s been a long couple of days of travel and moving Maddy out of her dorm, and now a long day at two parks. We opted to head back to Coronado for the night and get a snack before Epcot and Hollywood tomorrow.

Walked out as a bus was pulling in to our stop 👍

We had a great day today. Maddy rocked it. This is the most activity she’s done since having surgery to remove her gall bladder just 3 weeks ago Wednesday.

Just a final observation before calling it a day:

We were amazed at how light the crowds seemed today in both MK and AK. We had heard the stories of large crowds, and read how genie plus was selling out daily and before the parks even opened. We had prepared for massive crowds, and thankfully, we didn't see that.

Let's hope we get the same tomorrow.
