i was thinking the same thing, a mass of blind people all trying to 'read' the braille whilst being twirled!
i think the poster probably mean sign langauge!

Actually I think it is so that if any blind people are slapped in the face by the flags, they'll know to CELEBRATE TODAY!, or they'll be slapped again.:lookaroun

Disney's becoming very militant with its celebrations.

i hate the phrase ''now thats what im talking about'' and that chap said it about 20 times in under a minute! looks like a walking areobics class.he needs a proper script and not be 'freestyling', as hes going to be stuck and keep saying the same thing.
now thats what im talking about.what does that even mean? we know what your talking about if we're listening!
stop it.

I went to the cast preview last night and was very underwhelmed by Move It, Shake it, Spank it, or whatever its called. The show stop is WAYYYY too long and the choice of characters in the parade is random at best. (Mr. Incredible, Lumiere, the Genie, Baloo, etc.) In a crowd of a couple hundred people I can see where this would work but having such a long show stop during a crowded day I can see be a logistics nightmare! Two years ago when the first Year of A Million Dreams started they relied way to heavily on shows and parades like this. I think Disney should SCALE back the entertainment department and put their resources back into quality attractions that made Disney famous.
On a side note...it seems like WDW is really dragging their feet in rolling out this "Celebrate Today" marketing scheme. First with the placement of the marketing inside the parks up for a long time, leaving the YOAMD banners up longer, the parade is starting a whole month and half afterwards, the monorail hasn't changed its spiel yet...just seems strange to me.

Probably because Disney has no clue what they'll do for 2010 marketing and dragging this out or not begin quick to spend on the current promotion isn't a concern for them. Still, they have been advertising this for a while and the fact that only now are they implementing stuff does seem odd on their part.

I think that they're supposed to be "party characters", such as Terk (SP?) and Stitch.

No comment ... yet ... other than it sounds underwhelming and not anything more than a glorified meet-and-greet in the street.

Maybe we could get replacements for our 2001 and 1991 parades ... a new pyro show would be nice too ... all those moppets singing about magic, dreams and wishes makes me queasy.

:eek::lol:

Wishes is nothing compared the the PPP Show...Or some of the old FiTS...in my opinion. It seems much more classy to me.

Care to enumerate on why you don't like the show?

I wouldn't say I don't like it ... the pyro is amazing.

But unlike great shows like Illuminations ... it is too syrupy sweet and childish. (And no, not all MK pyro shows have been like that)

I don't need the characters talking and moppets singing ... just great pyro and great music and Disney has plenty.

I feel like I could get cavaties from all the sugar ingested during Wishes.

I suppose I see your point. But if they are going to over-do the "sugerification" I think MK is the place for it. Thanks goodness we still have shows like ROE that balance it all out.

The truth is, people want to go home (or wherever) at night with a warm, fuzzy feeling that makes them forget all of their troubles and believe in fantasy, have hope, basically everything that the MK does (or, in some perspectives, claims to do). I just can't see a finale show without immense amounts of sugar (they all have 'em, even I:RoE with "We Go On")

It's more inspirational if anything...

I disagree.

ROE is a very uplifting, life-affirming positive view on humanity.

Wishes is moppets singing about magic, dreams and, well, wishes ... with really bad character voice-overs. It is a show aimed much lower than EPCOT's ...

You should always feel good after seeing a Disney pyro show, but that doesn't mean it needs to be dumbed down to a 5-year-old's level.

Well said. Fits in right with the original park aims of IIE.;)

And agreed on the Wishes point on bad voice overs.:dazzle: They certainly detract from the show when you cringe at Snow White and Pinochio.:dazzle::lol:

Both Remember at DL and Disney in The Sky at HKDL are superior to Wishes because they aren't aimed quite so low.

The weakest part of Remember is the fact they took the first 4-5 minutes and opened DL's E-Tix in the sky with it.

Steve Davison's first big pyro show was Believe at DL about a decade ago and while it had a little boy talking about the aforementioned dreams, wishes amd magic, it seemed to have more heart (and a better soundtrack) so I kinda put up with it.

I feel the exact opposite. Believe was far more sappy to me. Maybe it's the narration? Dunno.

And RDCT is FAR superior to Wishes just for the fact that it covers attractions AND movies. I wish we would get something like that...

Believe definitely had a sappy quality ... all of Steve's pyro shows do to some degree. It just felt so fresh at the time and much better than DL's prior show or the FiTS that had been running forever at MK.

I guess as I got older my tolerance for sappy stuff has withered a bit.

I remember standing on Main Street with a friend early in 2000 watching Believe when she started talking to my friend about pintrading ... then the show starts and this woman starts weeping and doesn't stop. It was a bit ... ah ... uncomfortable, because it was body to body and there was nowhere to go.

I've been known to tear up in AA.:o:lol: We Go On gives me goosebumps and the occasional tear.

But yes, I think that's the purpose! The innocence and the magic of both shows is a little heart wrenching.

It starts off going up Main Street making stops until it reaches the castle and then some characters jump out of presents and they do a short performances there. The whole show from when it launches lasts about 20 minutes and is done 3 times a day.
Are the stops along Main St. the same "show" as the stop around the hub? Would someone viewing along Main St. get the same show as in front of the castle? Is 20 minutes the duration of the show stop or the entire show from entrance to exit including the stops?
