Most bizarre things WDW has ever done.

You know what makes that castle cake even more bizarre?

At one point, there was an idea for a Disneyland attraction called "Rock Candy Mountain" or something, and the ride actually looked like a giant mountain made of candy. They decided against it because they thought it would be an eyesore. But making Cinderella Castle look like THIS is okay?

Sure, but there is a distinct difference between a permanent attraction and a once in a lifetime whimsical celebration thing. I would have been at the head of the line protesting if it were permanent, but, for it's purpose it was cool, imaginative, fun and I'm sure an engineering marvel and very expensive thing for a one year celebration. Try and enjoy it for what is was, not what our own personal tastes are. Remember that it was a fake candy cake that covered and equally fake castle for a brief period of time.

The fact that Mr. Toads wild Ride ended with you burning in hell I always found that as such a strange way to end an attraction. You are being chased by a train explosion, boom burn in the underworld with scary devils and all. Not a real resolution to the story, and frankly it is bizarre classic.

It's working again and it does gunfire and cannon..It's just a darn shame no one turns their head and actually see the AA in action even during the film if you watch him he expresses stuff going on during the film like Statler & Waldorf do. And many just think it's his voice and that's it..

I wish there was recordings of that going on like how guests notice Donald behind where people are sitting at.

Really? You should write this exact same thing each time he feels the need to explain to a poster why their post is incorrect and their views are wrong. But why try to see both sides when being offended feels so righteous.
So I guess in your opinion discussion boards mean that they should be whatever you want them to be and not an effort to have a back and forth. At least I don't just put down a sarcastic remark without backing up my opinion with dialog. No one has to accept what I say, but, if you pay attention sometimes people have a different way of looking at things. You have a different way so do I and you felt compelled to express that what I do is wrong. Wait, isn't that not trying to see another side because being offended feels so righteous?

The hat at least became sort of iconic. The stage however, well, that's just absolutely awful. If I want to listen to a bad club DJ, I'll, well, probably try not to listen to one. It also makes the Brown Derby a letdown if you sit outside and all you hear is bass thumping away (especially since, if I'm correct, it's one of the higher tier restaurants so you'd be paying for that while getting a headache).
Agreed. BG music is one of my favorite features of the parks. For me WDW is an escape from everyday life and I don't want to hear music I hear all day on the radio at work.

A little bit of thread necromancy, but I just remembered this bit of oddness.

The Mickey Mouse Joy Division t-shirt. I can sort of understand it- after all, it is a somewhat iconic image in pop culture, and Disney isn't shy about appropriating pop culture iconography, especially for characters that are supposed to keep up with the times, like Mickey and the gang.

However, think about this- this was pitched, designed, approved, manufactured, advertised, and displayed, and only AFTER all that did someone apparently say, "Oh, right, this is from the band named after the Nazi hooker camp whose lead singer committed suicide; maybe we shouldn't tie this in with Mickey."

I've seen Disney do a lot of bizarre things in the Parks but running the WDW railroad backwards from Main Street to Mickey's Birthdayland during the construction of Splash Mountain was an odd sight. I can only imagine a first-time visitor seeing that.

Uhh?

That Barbie thing at Epcot that I could have gladly never known about until someone on here said :p

I also find spaceship earth to be slightly ridiculous... It seemed outdated even when it was new.
