agree, and the 1980s mall tile is inexcusable
Mall Tile - you're right on the money :D

Given how consistently Tangierine Cafe has shrunken its menu and slouched into oblivion over the years, maybe Disney Corporate is just retiling to prepare to stick an Auntie Anne's Pretzels in there. IIRC, the tile work would go far better with Auntie Anne's aesthetic than the Moroccan gate.

I know the Moroccan restaurant at the back always seemed to have trouble staying booked...We could always get a table there and TBH I have had better Moroccan food...But I was always glad it was there... Tangerine Cafe was great. reasonably priced, and easy to get a decent quick lunch. Now it's no longer great... and the restaurant on the waterfront is pricey for what you are getting. They really need to bring back the Moroccan Bazaar in a meaningful way, and then add either a completely redone and revamped restaurant with a speakeasy Moroccan bar ( looking like Rick's from the Casablanca movie), or build a great new attraction back there. It is a beautiful Pavilion that deserves to be brought back to relevancy...

I just don't understand why they ruined the Tangierine Cafe. We went there at least once each trip. Last time I checked the menu was so awful we skipped it. What a disappointment.

I like that idea... re-theme the main restaurant to Rick's, add the speakeasy/lounge next to it, and then create a "smuggler's tunnel/passageway between Morocco and France... would fit well with the Casablanca theme.

I really don’t think a speakeasy is a particularly relevant or appropriate way to represent Moroccan culture. The large majority of Moroccans are Muslims who do not drink alcohol. Yes, I realise drinks are sold at the pavilion anyway, but theming the main restaurant around a bar seems a step too far to me.
This is true. We need something that will liven the country, but alcohol is not a great idea. Granted, you can have entertainment without alcohol.

Disney or Pixar, make a movie set in Morocco already.

I was not suggesting making the restaurant themed around the Speakeasy but having a speakeasy that is a nod to the Casablanca film would be a nice addition... The Restaurant needs to be refreshed and reinvigorated as something more vibrant that will bring people in... Adding some new unexpected things is one way to bring some interest... Shadowy streets, back alleys of Casablanca...a hint of adventure... That would be the thought.... And while they are at it, redo the museums and cultural exhibits...

Indiana Jones in Morocco would fit that idea.

Can we not just let Moroccan culture speak for itself without such silly gimmicks? No-one is suggesting that Italy needs this sort of nonsense.
Scirocco: Desert Coaster?

If we need IP for a ride, Indiana Jones is an easy one to place into Morocco (with a new movie, I mean). I am open to any ideas that get Morocco a ride.

Luca boat ride in Italy is good to me.

… Aren’t they? People want Pinocchio or Luca for Italy, Snow White or Rapunzel for Germany, Mulan for China, etc. Unless you mean that the suggestions for Morocco are particularly ill-suited to it, which I agree with, but that’s mostly a function of there being no culturally Moroccan stories in the Disney canon. Personally, I think putting an oil lamp shop at the back of the bazaar that leads to an enhanced M&G with Genie + Aladdin / Jasmine would be least disruptive since they’re already meeting elsewhere in the pavilion anyway.
