I'm booked at POR and am trying to get into POP from 9/14-9/23. All the Values have been booked since last weekend, with the PO all booked too. The cheapest places have been CBR, CS, and AKL savannah view. Today I checked again and they opened up more POR and POFQ, along with ASMov and ASSpo. Looks like they opened up more rooms or have had lots of cancels. So if you are looking to get in, check again...

Happens all the time. We get so many Request For Proposals every day that very large quantities of rooms are temporarily held. It's important to keep in mind that at any given time, there may be outstanding requests for up to 5,000 rooms.

Is it hard to get ADR's during free dining? Is it possible to get the dining plan and then not be able to get into any "sit down" restaurants?
Any is the key word there. Many would be a better choice of words. It is possible, and highly likely that you would not be able to get into MANY restaurants if you do not book ADRs in advance for dinner. Lunch and Breakfast (sans character meals) are easier ADRs to secure. There are also some locations that are either huge, or not as popular with the masses, that would be easier getting into. But for your own sake, if you're booking during that period, make your reservations TODAY!!!

Interesting - I am taking my family in October and would love to have free dining. We are staying at POP too... How do I find out if I can get free dining. Thanks!!

it's a special that Disney is running right now, presumably to bring in more guests during their value season. All you have to do is check before Sept 22, stay at a Disney resort for at least 3 nights and purchase at least 1 day in park tickets. This special needs to be booked before June 24.

HURRY and call! Hope you get it!

Does it matter which resort you stay in? I am scheduled for a value resort for five nights. So, all I have to do is add a one-day park ticket and ask for the free dining and I am good to go?

I was able to change my reservation from All Star Sports to the Pop Century yesterday as well!!! I really like the layout better at the Pop Century from any of the All Star Resorts. And for under $1500.00 for two adults and one child for twelve nights including the Dining plan you can't lose. I cancelled our trip to Disneyland at a cost of just over $400.00 in airline and hotel penelties and Disneyworld is still going to work out to be a less exspensive holiday and I don't need to rent a car thanks to the Magical Express.

I'm was going 9/15 through 9/22. Wanted to stay at Pop but they said it was sold out and so was Movies. Ended up at Music.

Then after reading that as long as your first day was BEFORE 9/23, I called back and changed my reservation. Now staying 9/22 through 9/29 at Pop. Dining plan, tickets, and room came to only $1190. What a bargain, I think.

Stayed at Pop before and its OK. The BIG BIG BIG problem with the Value resorts is the "food court". If you go for breakfast, say after 8AM, expect it to be a complete zoo. The big mess is where you see people trying to carry trays piled with food and trying to open and close the refridgerators. You can do one, but doing both with only 1 hand on each leads to disasater. Just about every morning I've stayed there and went in there, I see someone dumping their breakfast off their tray or dropping thier drinks on the ground.

And its just PACKED to fullness!! Trying to get a table can be an adventure after you get your food. Other than that, Pop is pretty nice. The "preferred rooms" can be nice since they are closer to the main building, but they are also normally right by the pool. That has its pros and cons, but I'm sure everyone has their opinion on that.

Even though it's a great deal, going to WDW is still not cheap. I suspect lots of people book rooms and start making plans only to discover they can't afford to go, or if they're living week-to-week, they can't even scrounge up the deposit. As a result, rooms are "let go" fairly regularly. In a situation like this, it might be even more recommended than usual to book through someone like Kingdom Konsultants, considering they're calling all the time anyway, possibly have a rapport or connections with many CMs, if rooms are suddenly back on the market, they might be amongst the first to know.

This is true as well, but as I've mentioned above, the bulk of rooms that are re-released are from Group Sales. These blocks can be in the thousands, and can span multiple resorts. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell when these groups are going to make their decision on WDW or elsewhere, but KK is a great way to go since they check so often.

Value resorts qualify. As long as you check in before September 22, and add that one day ticket. They'll change you from a room only reservation to a package. It's an awesome deal.

As has been discussed, the value resorts are filling up for this special so call today. Or call Kingdom Konsultants and let them call for you!:)

The BIG BIG BIG problem with the Value resorts is the "food court".

I've said it 'afore and I'll say it again. Trying to eat breakfast at the resorts (at least the values) is an exercise in futility and will ruin your day before it begins. My typical Disney eating day... Get a granola bar and fruit (from the room - stuff you brought), then take your refillable mug with you. Grab a drink and keep on walking through the dining area and out to the bus stops. Multi-task by enjoying your breakfast in the bus line. Have a nice table service lunch in the park around 11AM or so. Then have a counter service dinner before or after the crush hits. Top it off with a fireworks dessert or snack from a roaming cart. Works like a charm every time! :slurp:

I guess it depends on what time you go to breakfast. Since I wanted to be at the parks for the EMH, I was up and running by about 7 a.m. Ate breakfast and was at the bus by 8, so I had no problems with the type of crowds you talked of. The people were great and friendly, even that early in the morning.

I just called Disney and modified my reservations to include a one-day park ticket and got my free dining! Thanks for all the info, guys. Now, I have to sit down and think of all the places I want to eat.

I am so excited! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

To answer a few things people have said:

WDW is in no way inexpensive. Believe me when I say I completely understand how lucky I am to be able to afford it and take my son.

Someone mentioned they went to the food court at 7AM. Yes, without a doubt it is NIGHT and DAY difference when you go at that time. You said you have no idea what I am talking about, so I suggest if you really want to be amused, you catch breakfast around 9AM there. You will NOT be dissapointed. :ROFLOL:

I'm an early riser, so I'm up between 6 or 7 without need for an alarm clock. So I would get up and get my mug of coffee and be lucky to see 10 people. In most cases, every food line had nobody in it.

Then as the rest of my group would finally get their act together and get out the door aroun 8 or 9AM, well its a whole different story. In fact, my brother came back to me and said a guy walked in behind him, just stood there looking around at the chaos, and said "This is unreal!". He turned around and left! :ROFLOL:
