Spence, are you a math major? Lol j/p I have problems remembering my prime number although I am a senior in High School. Maybe I should stay after to get some help on that :brick: Well to back on topic, How fast is Rockin Roller Coaster? It doesnt seem all that fast, BTW up here in New England theres a roller coaster "Superman Ride of Steel" at Six Flags New England where the ride is almost a mile long, and only lasts like 77 seconds I think it said, wow I cant beleive I want in line for an hour to ride a 77 second ride. :brick:

~SuM Wishes you all a happy holiday! :xmas:

Rock n Rollercoaster is 57MPH and lasts 1:22 (http://www.rcdb.com/id560.htm)

The idea of some new type of powered car lacking 2 seats would make sense due to forward and reverse direction of the ride. A configuration like that would probably make the ride flow much better.

This just seems wrong to me. 34 people in rows of 2 would mean 17 rows. 17 rows on a coaster is unheard of. It's a prime number. It can't be divided evenly, which means that you'd have, for example, 5 cars each with 3 rows, but there would be 2 rows left over meaning you'd have 1 extra car with only 2 rows. I could see 36 people (9 cars of 4 rows or 12 cars of 3 rows) or 32 people (8 cars of 4), but not 34 people. It just doesn't work.

Each car will have 3 rows of 2. There will be 5 cars per train = 30
One Locomotive car will have 2 rows of 2 = 4. Total = 34.

Maybe not! Rock 'n' Roller Coaster has an average capacity of 1400 riders per hour. Everest is projected 2000 per hour for double the ride time!

Remember that is "projected" or a theoretical number that can be acheived if everything runs perfect.

Basically, it is a 3 minute ride with a 30 second unload time and a 30 second load time which makes a 4 minute complete cycle. So "theoretically" each train can make 15 cycles a hour. 15(cycles)X34(people)=510 people per hour per train. 510(people)X4(trains)= 2040 people per hour.

But... that is if everything is perfect. The operators are dispatching every 60 seconds and all the guests are seated and ready to go. If you have slow people getting off or getting on, that lowers the capacity. If you have a Handicapped guest then that lowers the capacity even more. If it takes too long, then the next train will be waiting at the last brake zone waiting to come into the station, then there will be backups just like most other rides at Disney.

24 Guests per train at RnRC. Not 32. 12 rows of 2. 6 coaches of 4.
Only I would say 12 rows of 2 adds up to 32! :brick:

Yen_Sid1, what's your source on that? From what I was told, and what I have seen, the five cars per train includes the rear/locomotive car...leaving capacity at 30.

Very true, that is why I hope they announce another E ticket soon. The park is going to need it. EE is going to raise the bar big time for AK.

I think the park needs more filler before it gets another E-ticket. Yes, I would love to see a few more E-tickets built, but the park seems to lack the filler attractions (and most of what it has for filler are shows). Before they build anymore E-tickets, they need some attractions that will soak up and spread out the guests, otherwise, the park will have nothing but a few large rides, and every ride will have a huge wait.

I sence a need for Fantasyland-quality dark rides! :D

That would not be bad, but I don't think it would really fit.....at least not to the extent that it fits in the MK.

On top of that, they could do a ride system that went through "real" animal enclosures....like a smaller version of KS, but since enclosures need to be large enough to satisfy the needs of the animal, they would run the chance (as on KS) of waiting in line and not seeing anything.

Something (not a show) could be done with a few of the films that have been made, but I think to keep the integrity if DAK and an "Animal-themed" park, too much work in this direction may not be so great.

I think more treks would be nice, but I would really like to see the treks as guided tours, not just walk-throughs.....something could potentially be done there.

Actually, that would be only 28 not 30 because the Locomotive car only seats 4 people.

That's the original configuration unless it's been changed really recently. It was 5 cars plus the Locomotive car in the rear for a total length of 70 ft.

A configuration of 30 per train would reduce the THRC to 1800. And 28 would only be 1680. And WDI likes to increase not decrease THRC whenever possible.

Agreed, but my question was where did you get your numbers. Not that I'm doubting you, but from the unreleased art I've seen, as well as a photo of a mock-up of the train....5 cars including loco, which held 6. Even the released concept art shows it.
I'd love to be proven wrong with some new info I don't have yet!

Agreed, AK needs some thing to spread out the guests. What ever the attraction is it should generally appeal to the same demographic as EE. Having said that, speck is right it doesn't have to be an E-ticket, but it should at least try to target the same demographic as EE. EE is going to be a magnet for the older kids through young adults and thrill seekers in general. Unfortunately, AK doesn't have much to pull that demographic else where. They do have Dinosaur, but I think with the opening of EE, it will make it apparent to most that another attraction is needed. As others have stated before, some of the rides in the park seem like E tickets when they are really D or C (Chester, ITTBAB, and Kali), EE will put this a little more into perspective.

I agree. EE and Dinosaur will be dragging a large ammount of guests to the East of the Park. What plans are there to compansate in the West side? C/D rides where *ahem* Beastly was to be? Camp Minnie Mickey can`t last forever (remember this was built as an afterthought after groundbreaking, for less than a million, when management realised the park was low in capacity)

Any ideas, Lee?

i have searched the threads, and found some results, but not a for sure answer. So here is my question: has anyone quite figured out what that sort of "thick" part of the track on EE is??
