More Dining Options Needed at Magic Kingdom

What about a Pirates of the Caribbean themed table service restaurant?
I would like to see a restaurant themed totally like the Spanish town in the POTC attraction. It could be just like the attraction, night time with the tables being within the town and on the balconies. The moon could be out, the Black Pearl could be floating offshore, in the distance. Sounds, to me, like alot of fun. I never have trouble choosing dining for DHS and EPCOT, but the options at MK are limited, in my opinion.

This sounds fun to me. Any other ideas?

As I have stated many times the old Veranda restaurant would make a great Pirates theme restaurant. Also, the Diamond Horseshoe, in my opinion, is greatly underutilized. A Toy Story theme character meal would go great there. Hopefully Gaston’s Tavern and whatever else they have in the works for Fantasy Land will fill in some of the gaps on the other side of the park.

A Woody and Jessie restaurant is a good idea for the former Diamond Horseshoe Revue.

Wow! It could be built actually inside the attraction! You could watch the boats float by in the ride! It would be so cool and no other Disney castle park would have one!

Oh...wait...:lookaroun

All the others already do...

Woody's Roundup would be a great themed dining experience but I am sure people here would hate the idea because it brings more Pixar into the parks.

I was thinking the same thing. What about a not as hokey, Diamond Horseshoe Revue, with REAL dining options, not just hot dogs and popcorn?

Even Europa Park in Germany has a great sit down restaurant overlooking the ride and water in their 'Pirates of Batavia' ride.

I think Tortuga Tavern should be changed into a Pirates character meal.
I think the Diamond Horseshoe is a great spot for a Toy Story character meal.

My Disney fanaticism is limited to WDW, I am afraid. I know surface info about Disneyland, but am fairly ignorant as to what the other parks across the world have.

Regardless of what the other parks have, I think a pirate themed table service restaurant would be awesome. As far as I am concerned, it does not have to have a a view of the attraction. A fully immersive pirate themed restaurant would be fun, I think. And, provide a nice TS option to MK.

I was actually very surpirsed and irritated when I came to WDW the first time and found there was no Blue Bayou inside the POTC attraction. If dinky old Disneyland can have it, why not WDW?

Love this restaurant idea.... similar to the San Angel Inn in Mexico minus the Mexican food. I would love more TS choices in MK. We know when we have kids that we will spend most of our days in MK so we don't plan for TS here (aside from a fav... CP). When that day comes in the future I'm sure CRT, CP, & LTT will be regulars.... a couple more choices wouldn't hurt!

Only if you were allowed to talk like a drunken sailor. Just kidding. They could put so much into for kids to enjoy as well... like walking the plank to get dessert.

Exactly what I had in mind!

Does Disney need more dining choices at MK? Yup.

Reopening some of the "seasonal" options would be great.

A pirates meal? Could be awesome. But Disney wouldn't go far enough with it. A pirate meal with the same type of CMs as in POTC already? Not worth it. You gotta have the salty sailors, the wenches, etc. And Disney wouldn't touch that in their family friendly park. Even the POTC movies have those characters.

Won't the 550-seat Be Our Guest restaurant in the Fantasyland expansion help? It's supposed to be counter service during the day and table service for dinner.

Gaston's Tavern too..

I'm sure it will, though I hope it doesn't make the already-seasonal-enough Tortuga Tavern and Tomorrowland Terrace open even less.

I say this every time a Pirates-themed restaurant gets mentioned but I really don't know why Disney hasn't already done this. Between the lasting popularity of the attraction, the incredible success of the films, and even Pirates-themed hotel rooms they must know that a character meal would be huge. It is also a theme that would be much more popular with boys than the princess meals yet not alienate girls in the process.

I tend to avoid character meals and though I really like Cinderella's Royal Table it involves jumping through so many hoops to get into it has become a "only go with first timers" restaurant. But a Pirates of the Caribbean restaurant would be a "must do" restaurant on every trip if done well.

I think that could be done in a manner that is not rude or obscene. The costumes could certainly be done and the scripting of the terminology used by cast member (waiters, waitresses, etc) could be carefully written and used.

Could not agree with you more! As a parent of a little boy, character and themed restaurants geared towards boys are LACKING big time in Disney.
