I can't believe this, but I'm happy! Monsters gets a show, Animation Courtyard can be the sacrificial Zootopia lamb that saves EPCOT or Animal Kingdom, Muppets gets a coaster and Muppet*Vision is either put on Disney+ or eventually moved to Sunset Showcase. I'm very satisfied with this compromise!
See that’s true but it doesn’t change the fact they’re destroying an entire Muppets LAND and all the Muppets get in return as a rethemed coaster, which doesn’t fit the brand, and MAYBE (unlikely) their show moving to a new spot or streaming. It’s such a downgrade I’m insulted.

Disney's said they're spending $60B over 10 years on Parks & Experiences.

Keeping in mind that time is a construct and words have no inherent meaning...consider this.

All the stuff they've announced so far - Cars Land, Villains Land, Tropical Americas, etc. - is basically Phase 1 of the plan, for 2025 to 2029 - the first 5 years of that 10 year spend.

We know this because all of those projects don't add up to anything close to $60B, even accounting for inflation, the fact that nobody's ever said whether it's CapEx, OpEx, or both, and so on.

Since everything they've announced fits into the first 5 years of the 10 year announcement, there'll be a Phase 2 announced probably around D23 2028 or so. I think they need to see how Epic U does, whether the economy returns to pre-pandemic inflation levels, etc.
Thanks for the explanation and clarification. I think I think of a Phase 2 being of a singular project and not so wide-ranging.

You could make something really cool and unique out of a rollercoaster in a universe where screaming creates energy, e.g. the thing rollercoasters need to move.

Imagine if they could actually tie the speed to how much people were screaming.

It doesn't need to actually be having an effect, though, it could work as something they're just telling you is happening. You could have a lull with no hills that gives you an excuse to slow down for a show scene; oh no, we just barely have enough power to make it up this hill! Scream as we go down everyone, or we might not reach the exit! Then "barely make it".

Have lights that get brighter or "break" if people are particularly loud.

Go backwards because you don't have the energy to make it up the fake lift hill, or urge riders to scream as the ride pretends to stall out.

I don't expect them to actually do anything, but the possibilities are cool.

If it's just copying the chase scene in the movie then that's a waste.

There is something much like what you're suggesting...in Japan (and not even at their Disney resort).

Too bad Imagineering probably won't expand on this (incredibly clever) idea

That's all fair, but, as a great lover of the Muppets, it isn't all that great of a land. I love Muppet*Vision, one of my favorite Disney attractions of all time, but I do think that a coaster will work for the Muppets if executed well and properly chaotic. I'm choosing to hold out hope that the show will be moved to Sunset Showcase. And honestly, the fact that they're trying to preserve it at all is significant for Disney.
