I feel like everything is on the chopping block nothing is safe be ready for it if it doesn’t have a ip attached to the ride be ready for one to come soon

Overall, this was probably one of the better (though not perfect) outcomes. Hollywood Studios' roster of attractions increases and a dated Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is finally updated. Of course, it's sad to see MV3D go, but I think more concern should be about how timeless the "team up with music's biggest stars" portion of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster will feel as it ages.

I some ways this actually makes it worse, since it's now clear that the theater did not need to be removed to build the coaster. They could have designed this in a way that Muppets could have remained which leads me to believe this was more about getting rid of Muppets 3D then creating a space for Monsters.

As for losing MuppetVision, I'm heartbroken. A great attraction for nostalgia reasons -- much like the Muppet show of my youth, Jim Henson's last project, etc. -- and it holds up very well considering it is 35 years old. The in-theater effects, animatronics, and live Sweetums really made it a joy every time, in addition to the humor and well-done 3-D. That being said, it's popularity, or lack thereof, with a large number of guests made it a likely sacrifice. While I love it and catch it every time, being a film attraction left it with not much reridability.
I note that the press release says they are working on a way to preserve the film and other parts of the experience. One can only hope that is correct. I have long had a hope that Disney would see fit to resurrect defunct filmed attractions in a rotating form somehow. Take all of the 3-D films and show them in the Magic Eye theater -- Magic Journeys, HISTA, Captain EO, Muppetvision, the shorts they've used for the short film festival. That way, we could still have something. Sure, the penguins and Waldorf and Statler might be missing, but I'm sure that could be handled. One can dream.
Beyond that, I do think the placement is pretty good. Making a whole street of Monstropolis makes sense. And they are expanding part as it looks like the ride building is on land not previously used for guest purposes. That's a plus. I suspect the old muppetvision queue and theater will be used for pre-show stuff. I wonder, though, if there's so much room there that there's something still to announce. If not, it is odd to me that the entrance for the ride appears to not be into the big themed building, but instead under a theater marquee that you can even see the big themed building from. Maybe Laugh Floor is moving here as well? I doubt it, but again, one can dream.

Right next door to the Villains thing and in the shadow of the 1930's themed Hollywood Tower Hotel.

I’m curious as to how the timeline here will shake out! I assume Disney won’t close MV3D until the probably quick RNR retheme is completed? If so, will there be a brief period of DHS where there’s two Muppets attractions?

Jim Hill and I joked on a recent show that when it comes to park announcements, we already start on the "Acceptance" stage of grief. It saves all kinds of time.
Anyway, one way to look at future decisions is whether the space currently being used for <whatever> is generating Lightning Lane revenue. If it is, it's probably safe. If it's not, it's probably being talked about somewhere.

Typical PR Disney giving vague details about rides and experiences.. I think they’ve just about done it for every new ride they showcased at D23 and beyond..
