I'm happy that the coaster will at least occupy new land AND we get to keep the theater (though TBD if the new theater show is a worthy replacement...)
Muppets + Olivia Rodrigo = everyone wanting to pay for LLPP!At least the Muppets will still be in the parks but this just feels like they are slapping some Kermit paint on RNRC to appease fans. What does the below even mean? Is it a Muppets themed coaster or the Muppets playing host to other bands and popstars?
"The Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival!"
Yup. Muppets is a bad fit for a coaster. It’s a property that relies on dialogue, characterization, and wit - all things, of course, modern Disney parks don’t do well.
I’ve grumbled about the loss of humor in the parks, but even more egregious and complete is the near complete removal of any kind of self-deprecating satire at the expense of the parks themselves. Muppets, Dinoland - there was a period when Disney was very good at making fun of itself. That’s a distant memory.
you could in theory write up a great pre-show but that’s just it, a pre show.
Tomorrowland won't be that dull for long. Trust the plan.
Do we consider getting rid of BatB a dropped shoe?
I’m really, REALLY tired of coasters.
That goes for Universal as well.
For me it’s ToT. When ToT is touched that’s when I finally throw in the towelWelp it was great knowing you Hollywood Studios. I’m gonna make one more trip to say my goodbyes and I have no reason to step in the park again. Hope the execs are happy.
Muppets Take Morocco? IP for EPCOT?That’s really really interesting about preserving the show. They also say ‘other parts of the experience’ which leads me to believe that it will be moving somewhere possibly as that wording insinuates that it will be more than just the film playing on loop in a gift shop.
Maybe we’ll be getting Muppet Studios after all
Phase 2 of what?I think all of that is being saved for the as-yet-unknown Phase 2.
Ask that again after Incredibles 3’s box office performance. So what’s their plan for Animation Courtyard and Launch Bay?
Agreed.No, but it should happen.
If Indiana Jones goes, I think it would become another show to continue absorbing guests during the day. Maybe Guardians? It's one of the few Marvel properties Disney can use east of the Mississippi. Not that I know of. But my god, it needs an update.
Leave the PeopleMover alone and I'm fine with nearly whatever they have planned over there.Tomorrowland won't be that dull for long. Trust the plan.
Lately Disney is acting like Universal in the 2000s and early 2010s. They just seem to think that if they axe these classics as quickly as possible nobody will noticeFirst they came for Maelstrom….
Then they came for Great Movie Ride…
Then they came for Splash Mountain….
Then they came for the Country Bears…
Then they came for Muppet Vision….
Phase 2 of what?
You can fit several rides on the Indy footprint and increase capacity as well as dramatically shift guest flow in the park.If Indiana Jones goes, I think it would become another show to continue absorbing guests during the day. Yeah, but the stuff Uni replaced wasn’t very good and didn’t have decades of nostalgia and cultural meaning attached.Lately Disney is acting like Universal in the 2000s and early 2010s. They just seem to think that if they axe these classics as quickly as possible nobody will notice
