"Here we have the blessing of size. There's enough land here to hold all the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine, at least until we decide it's easier to replace existing attractions than build new attractions. It's really hard to make the land in Florida suitable for building (I don't know why I picked this swampland anyway), so you have to understand that when I'm talking about the blessing of size, I'm only talking about places where we've already built things. There's so much space we can fill if we get rid of things that already exist!"

That's my favorite Walt quote, though I'm surprised you didn't include his passionate defense of ROI and revenue optimization.

With Monsters going into DHS, I would think Zootopia is now moving to AK. If the urban landscapes of Monsters and Zootopia were in the same park, it'd feel like overkill. Especially with Hollywood and Sunset Blvd's there already.

It's a prime location for a large land since it could take the theater, backstage and backlot and then could expand into the parking lot. Backlot and Indy are really some of the last remnants of the "how movies are made" theme which is why I think they will eventually be on the chopping block, especially now that Indy will have representation in AK.,
I'd hope someone at Disney would understand that Indy is needed, huge people eater.

If you include Djr, Launch Bay, the courtyard, and the offices that were once the animation studios/tour, this is where Monstropolis can go....

If they build a bunch of other stuff first - and they should on the currently backstage land with the Animation building and between there and RNR - such that capacity for the park is improved, then it would be fine to remove the stunt show ant used that footprint for a new updated land. There is expansion pad land adjacent to the stunt show and there is also the parking lot next to it that could be used for additional in park needs.

I noticed on Sunday that the little store there as you come out of Soarin' over by the bathrooms on the lower level was not set up at all. I actually went looking for it to see something and I did see the desk area but nothing set up as a retail area. Marie
Yes, on the exit of Sorin' there is some merch, but not a formal gift shop.

Really depends on where Monsters is going.

Monsters wouldn’t require all of the space behind AC. Presumably the next expansion would be behind the MI coaster.

SWGE already has space for expansion should that come to pass. They would not have considered Muppet Courtyard for the MI coaster if that would have precluded them from expanding SWGE. There’s no real reason to close MV3D at any point soon unless they just want it gone.
This does make me hopeful for the future of muppetvision 3D, if it goes in AC. I do think the area needs a little elbow grease, but I’m sure it could work and not be than expensive for stuff. Carve out a little muppet area. And while I have a feeling muppetvision won’t be around forever unfortunately, I think they can 100% find a place somewhere else. I think it’s very clear that imagineering likes the muppets. They keep using them at festivals, at the parties, and while it’s not a new attraction, they do keep showing up. Heck they own them. So while muppets is still here, and with jollywood, why don’t they do a muppetvision Christmas show to sort of revitalize the area seasonally? It worked for the bears, and their division runs the muppets so I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard.

Makes sense that it’s a chapek era idea. Tbh, his ”changing” of Epcot t to be more ip based is actually like Tex Richman’s backstory. He didn’t understand what made it special (like Tex Richman not knowing how to laugh and therefore hating the muppets), so he wanted to change it. Only the bad guy won in the end. I hope that oil under the fountain of nations was worth it.
