I love Cosmic Rewind, I just wish they put it in HS. Perhaps with a Star Tours retheme and a Dr Strange ride to make a little Marvel area?
Guardians & Dr Strange as a Marvel land with an expansion pad for a potential Avengers ride (or a Marvel property that they can use in Orlando that eventually becomes popular) should've been what they did.

It's crazy that this wasn't what happened; they're obsessed with lands & this could've made DHS even bigger.

I had an imagineering thing from a while ago which was a Marvel Land to replace Indy/Star Tours at DHS... Star Tours became themed to Incredibles and had a little mini-Land around it, and then Cosmic Rewind and a Dr Strange Dark Ride would replace the area at Indy and the parking lot to make a superhero section of the park.

I think Disney just doesn’t want Marvel & Star Wars in the same park. They want to separate them so people feel like they have to visit multiple parks. That would also explain why WDSP isn’t getting Galaxy’s Edge anymore.

Even if they used Animation courtyard and other expansion spots first, with how Disney is, of course they would want to get rid of grand avenue, with underperforming shops and restaurants, and retheme it to something else.
This re-raises the question: will it just be the Muppets Courtyard / Grand Park area that’s being rethemed, or will it also be the “Avenue” section of Grand Avenue (i.e., the street with Baseline at one end and the Galaxy’s Edge tunnel at the other)?

I’m hoping it’s the former, so the “Avenue” area functions as a visual transition that can still be Los Angeles when viewed from the Star Tours area and Commissary Lane while part of Monstropolis when viewed from inside the former Muppet Courtyard / Grand Park.

The only issue is, if it’s indeed the former, what land will it be a part of? Will it be its own mini-land like Pixar Plaza? Or might they be able to rename Commissary Lane and Grand Avenue something like “Downtown LA”?

Pretty sure it is the former, based off the concept art. I see some "monster cars" in the street outside but that's it.

It wouldn't really make sense to theme it outside that archway. Much easier to keep it in that space.

They'll probably just have it be part of Commissary Lane for now.

Baseline Taphouse and the Grand Avenue facades are staying. Can definitely see them combining Grand Avenue and Commissary Lane into one big avenue
If you view Commissary Lane as a bit of an extension of the Hollywood “hub” it works. Especially if they eventually make a land of some kind in the Star Tours area. Grand Avenue becomes a little hub into 3 lands.

They should put some hanging gardens or something in Commissary Lane so it is harder to see the studio “blocks” though.

They will probably just make Sci fi dine in Mike Wasowzki's car themed and call it a day.

What would be a good transition is to keep Sci fi dine and have many ads for Hollywood B films on the wall as if old coming attractions and trailer posters. A few fake co concerned parent committee or something too and then closer to Monsteopolis it becomes the monsters are sillier and kinder ad payoff tje gsg by having a parental committee poster concerned about human Invasion films to the Monster world and the transition designed to work either entering from old Hollywood or back to it.

I don’t think this will reach as far as Sci-Fi. I think it will only impact everything behind the new Ice Cold Hydraulics stand.

Here's a closer image of discussed section outside of grand Ave park..

Even tho the concept shows more vehicles..I doubt they will be there to help with crowd control and the schmucks who decide to sit on top of them ruining the theming...

It’s interesting that the road leading to Galaxy’s Edge is a herringbone paver style in this art, when now it’s asphalt.

But the more I look at this art the weirder it becomes. The people are just splotches, the cars are very undetailed, but the light posts behind the car are very well defined, like it’s a sticker on top of the rest of the art. It’s like a big digital art collage. Very odd looking

It sort of is. A few semi rushed plans can overlay transperencies on top of it.

That is why Statler and Waldorf are still there.

The cart is before the horse again.

Yeah, I think it’s just art as opposed to a working design of the land. This is an artist’s interpretation of what Monstropolis will look like and since it’s an urban setting they want to give the feeling of streets in a city. I don’t expect to see any cars in the actual land. I think they are just a placeholder to depict that these are “roads” as opposed to asphalt paths in a theme park. In reality they will be paths in a theme park and the cars would mostly get in the way.

Some cars will likely be there for sure as they are easy to do.

Grand Avenue leading into Galaxy’s Edge is kinda narrow and can get crowded depending on time of day and time of year. I don’t think they would want to further restrict crowd flow there. Maybe somewhere further into Monsters Land. Once the gift shop building is knocked down there may be more space leading back to the main ride building.
It will be adequate.

If only there was a way to fix the dead end that will still be an issue once Monstropolis opens. Like once you hit the big show building, turn left, and back you are around Star Tours.

There is a small alley between Star Tours show building and Pizza Rizzo/Store but it’s probably used for deliveries and backstage stuff. I can’t see them using it for guests. I think we are stuck with the dead end. I’m ok with that in this case but the park does have too many dead ends and bad flow. They really need to address that with AC redo and hopefully connect back to RockNMuppets Coaster area.
Or you could build a land connecting from Toy Story to RnRc, maybe like an Indiana Jones: Rome Expedition. Imagineeringland did a really cool ride idea for Indiana Jones, a water/EMV dark ride hybrid called Lost city of the gods I think, maybe a ride like that because to give DHS a water ride, and maybe an LPS flat ride like Luigi's in DCA. Maybe even a motorcycle launch coaster like Hagrids.

No more coasters and pause on animated based attractions for DHS would be my simple basic edicts.

We have multiple animated world lands in one park and the Park's centerpiece E Ticket is based in entering an animated world.
