News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I like Muppets and want it to stay, but the bigger concern is how out of place Monstropolis would be in Muppet Courtyard's area.
Unfortunately Disney stopped caring about things fitting in a long time ago.

"Just get that ip somewhere in the parks. I don't care where, as long as it's replacing something."

I'm pretty sure I read that someplace.

I wonder if they would go ahead and tease an AC replacement, to save face for Muppets closing for Monsters? Maybe a Zootopia announcement or something totally unexpected?
Personally if they have to retheme RnRC why not retheme it to Zootipia and build a zootopia land. All you would need to do is have the coaster be a high speed chase and throw in some new set pieces. And before anyone says but it's a kids film as someone who's been fortunate to have rode the Crushs Coaster in Paris I don't think Disney really cares why IP is on an adult ride.

I dont think AC is really much of an issue. Launch bay is fine, competes with all the other SW stuff, but it has very low overhead for operating costs. Disney jr gives the little kiddos something to do, and Mermaid is currently being plussed. The biggest issue is this section is off the beaten path, and isn't cohesive. I dont think they are ready to solve that, without doing serious architecting around the land behind sunset ranch market.

It's a capacity issue -- the park needs more capacity. Monsters Inc. replacing Muppets doesn't do much for that, and has a pretty good chance of making it worse because a new Monsters Inc. coaster will attract more people to the park.

The park is likely to end up more crowded/less pleasant than it is now if we just have a Monsters for Muppets swap without a major AC replacement.

Unfortunately, the muppets are probably about to get stuck in the “figment/organgebird” festival/party dimension.
Everyone thought Muppets under WDI would mean good things for that IP at the parks, but unfortunately I really think it just means “trot them out at festivals like the rest of our original IP.” I mean, now 50% of all Muppet Merch is exclusive to Mickey’s of Glendale.

my wild guess is that monsters goes in muppets, zootopia goes in AC, and Incredibles goes in RnRC

Zoo at DHS would probably be a new ride system.
If Monsters goes to Muppets, Muppets get a new home, Zootopia (with a new ride system) goes to AC & we get an incredibles re-theme to RNRC ... We really won.

AND ... If Henry was onto something with Echo lake being ear-marked for a Pirates/Treasure cove land ... DHS would truly be incredible.

I feel like Zootopia and Monstropolis are too similar of a concept for them to both be at the same park. They're both quirky, fantastical cities where a lot of the humor comes from monster/animal puns and stuff being big/small. If they were both at HS, it would be way too same-y. Having them be basically right across from each other would only exaggerate that.

I understand Disney wants Zootopia in WDW, but I can’t think of a park it fits at. IF I was going to force it somewhere, I’d replace Planet Watch with it and upgrade the train ride out to the city. That way it feels totally disconnected from Animal Kingdom (outside of the train and a walking path they’d inevitably make), but goes with animals. I hated the idea of it taking over Dinoland because it doesn’t have thematic cohesion with the rest of the park. Separate it and you’ll have me.

I think Animal Kingdom is probably the worst fit for it. Well, other than EPCOT I guess.
