I have heard that it is possible to ride up front with the driver. Is thsi really so? If so how can I go about it?:)

Did I hear right that you can also ask for a certificate? If that is right has anyone hear got one?

Thanks:D :D

All you have to do is when you get to the monorail station ask one of the attendants if you can ride up front. If its available and not too busy they usually say yes. Its always much easier if you are on a resort monorail to do it. (less used). They should give you a little business sized card that says monorail co-pilot which is really neat! Best of luck! :)

here are some clips i shot while sitting in the front of the monorail last september. it was raining a bit - but still, it was quite a ride! (clips are in mpeg format)

Yes, just ask the attendant to ride up front but it was only available while departing from one of the resorts. Very few people ask, and they will let up to 4 people ride.

The best ride for upfront is on the Epcot monorail. You get a much longer ride than the Resort Monorail and the views are fantastic, especially on the way to Epcot.

Once my daughter & I timed it just right so that we were able to ride the monorail back from MK during illuminations. The driver stopped the car and opened the windows so we could hear the music. Spectacular!

You can ride up front any time from any station. Just ask, and if its too crowded..you will wait on a seperate line. Usually families with little kids get first dibs on front rideing...but the wait is never too long.

Here's a pic of the co-pilot's license you get when you ride upfront. I didn't make the picture too big so I hope you can read the policy for riders boarding at the resorts.

Thank you everyone.

Am I reading the pic that Tramp post correctly as it seems to indicate that you have to board from a resort to travel up front which seems contrary to what others are saying?

Tramp is correct. They instituted this policy due to the large number of guests wanting to ride in the front cab. This policy only deals with the Resort monorails. You can still ride in the front cab on the Epcot monorail. Just ask.
