No way is this true. Never in a million years would Disney be dumb enough to think that would fly with purists. Tronorail was pushing it. I don't believe this for 1 second.

A wrap - Possible. Avengers - Negative.

So, even though the character rights are owned by Disney, they're going to promote another companies movie (Disney doesn't have the movie distribution rights to those characters) and promote characters that are at the competitor's park.

I call 100% complete bs to this rumor.:ROFLOL:

If they were going to wrap it for a movie, it would have been done for The Muppets or John Carter.

More than likely it'll be for something to promote the parks.

Disney owns the movie and is distributing it. Paramount still gets some money though and gets their logo on marketing materials as a contingency of the sale to Disney.

Disney owns all the rights to the characters they just had to buy the distribution rights from Paramount to distribute Iron Man 3 and The Advengers. Disney owns Marvel Studios and so whatever Marvel Studios puts out it is Disney. In this particular case Disney is also the distributor. The only upcoming Marvel movie that they won't be a distributor on is Spider-Man because the have not been able to buy these distribution rights. I can guarantee that there will be a new Spider-man movie every 5 years now just to make sure Disney doesn't get those distribution rights for free.

I don't mind the monorail wraps. I remember when I saw the Tronorail I was so giddy. I made sure we rode it at least once during our trip. I would be all for the Advengers getting a monorail wrap because I personally love them and love that Disney now owns them and so far is doing well with the movies.

For everyone that hates a decision that Disney makes there is a person who likes it. Disney is never going to please everyone.

Just another case of the greater show being tossed aside because money can be made (subsidiaries do pay each other because they are technically separate entities with their own books).

They apparently have a code for that situation, "SIGNAL 96-S". Snake on the train that is, not Samuel L. Jackson. :)

If this turns out to be accurate, it is really too bad that Monorail Red is the one that will be covered. Red is such a clean and bold color, unlike colors like Peach and Coral. Red and Black are my favorites to see running through the parks. I love Black's red outline on it's black stripe.

If you (you as in TDO) are going to keep wrapping monorails in advertisements, choose a color with a delta or a color that is otherwise bland. Not Red.

Perhaps box office results were not as abysmal as they could have been because of tron o rail promotion? Not defending the or promoting anything....

400 million worldwide while not legendary is nothing to sneeze at...it's enough for them to start work on the sequel. I'm sure when you factor in DVD/Bluray sales and also licensing it came in just under a 800mil.

There is no questioning the movie and anc. sales were decent. My point was that the wrap probably helped a great deal to that end. In fact I suspect a significant portion of people who saw the wrap probably had never heard of Tron. From a marketing standpoint it was clever. The cost per eyeball was presumably less than what you might spend for web/TV/print.

The real question is not what movie or monorail they will advertise on next. The real question is when will they wrap all the monorails in LED's so they can change the ad space faster/cheaper. Oh yeah, why have the buses not had any ads on the sides, DVC on the back notwithstanding?

I also stated i heard it was the avengers i didn't say it was a sure thing. Monorail red will be wrapped i'm just not 100% sure of the theme

If they do it fine.. but if anyone from there is reading this: Please pick another monorail color! Red is my favorite color train! :)

I thought the main reason why they used coral for the tron-o-rail was because it's exterior was the most worn and a wrap would delay the inevitable paint job. This would rule coral, peach, and teal out for the wrap, since they have been redone recently. Probably someone on the rails would know how red's exterior is and whether it needs a paint job.

Ugh, not another one. I thought people were okay with Tron because it tied with the monorail's futuristic transit theme... that isn't nearly as true with the Avengers, or any other incoming Disney tentpole feature (or theme park expansion).

So have our world-class, one-of-a-kind, even utopian monorail trains been reduced to moving billboards? I thought Disney bought the property to get away from tacky stuff like that...

Disney does own the movie distribution rights to all Marvel Studio propreties...not Spiderman or Xmen or FF
