Teal was made from the 2 cab cars and 4 cars furthest away from the accident on both Purple and Pink. The 12th train is being made with the cabs and 4 cars closest to the accident. The cabs were destroyed, so new ones are being made.

The ones here are the ones being used to make the 12th train. The checked the cars behind the cabs, and fixed them, but they had to fabricate new cabs...

Close, but a correction for your diagrams;

Teal was made from Cars 1-5 of Pink and Car 6 of Purple. Not half and half as your diagram indicates.

Purple CAB 1 and Pink CAB 6 (notice I didn't say CAR) were destroyed. Cars 2-5 of Purple have been sitting in Monorail Shop since July 5, 2009 awaiting those two cabs to be rebuilt. Ex-Pink Car 6 and ex-Purple Car 1 have had new cabs built onto them are are back in Shop and the train is now put together awaiting some parts and testing.

Teal is 5/6th ex-Pink
"Train 12" will be 5/6th ex-Purple, with two brand new cabs on each end.

Really?? I heard that Teal was made from the cars/cabs FURTHEST away the accident off of BOTH trains because they withstood no damage. The center cars/cabs took the damage, and were refurbished... That's what I had heard...

Nah the only real damage was to the Cabs involved and the cars they were immediately attached to (ie Car/Cab 1 of Purple and Car/Cab 6 of Pink).

Teal is basically ex-Pink, minus the last car, which is ex-Purple. When it first came out, you could even see inside the door jams where they couldn't quite strip the paint of completely, the old colors. 1-5 were had Pink overspray, 6 had Purple. It may be like that today even, I haven't looked closely. It was especially bad inside the cab doors.

Car 2-5 of Purple have not been out on the open beam since July 5, 09.

And you are correct, Disney did fabricate the new cabs, not Bombardier.

Pictures? I have a bad feeling about this. Something tells me they salvaged what they could in terms of the electronics out of the bad Cabs to re-purpose into the new cabs. That spells more problems for that train. How much longer will they try to keep these trains working? 10 trains have now had much more work put on them due to the missing trains. The actual years of service is probably much higher then the actual years they are in service. This seemed the perfect opportunity to build a new fleet. I am amazed they missed the chance.

Haha yeah I suppose. I doubt that any of the electronics that were used in the two damaged cabs will be reused. ESPECIALLY not the consoles and breakers or computers. Basically everything that was in those cabs was taken in as evidence. From what I have seen of the inside of the new Cabs, everything in them is brand new. I can't speak for the wiring or anything behind the firewall because the Cabs were in Central Shops for that work which there is no reason for Monorails CMs to go to.

Teal had a few teething problems at first but now is no more or less reliable than any of the other trains. Train 12 should be interesting though, since both Cabs are brand new. But, as long as the wires are all hooked up correctly it should be fine.
