Monorail appreciation.

I love riding the monorail. Sometimes on non-park days we will take the monorail between Epcot and MK just for the ride.
Not having children, I never got to ride in the front and don't know if they still do the Monorail co-pilot's license thing with kiddos, but if we had kids, I think it would be worth it to ride up front.
You ever ride up front?

Not in years but I love parking at TTC just to take the monorail to MK! There's something special about arriving there in the morning on the monorail! I could never feel the same way about a bus! The monorail is magic not transportation!

We have but they ended it after the accident. It was amazing! We love the monorail and go resort hopping/ shopping. You can really feel the magic on the monorail

The monorail is the best even with delays etc. Resort and bar hopping, dining or just transportation. It is for us an integral part of the vacation experience at WDW. We ride it constantly.

While I can't say we ride it constantly, we do ride it every trip.

I too must profess my love for the monorail. Does anybody else play the monorail game? All vacation long we compete to see who can identify the monorails color the fastest. If you guess wrong you lose points. Last summer we had a bonus point if you found monorail avenger. It may be corny but its a family tradition!

Even as an adult, we were given co-pilot licenses. I have a whole stack somewhere. Another tip, take the resort monorail to the CR and walk around the Grand Canyon Concourse. Head over to the Poly and look around there for a while. Its a nice experience to see those resorts with the added convenience of the monorail.

Last summer we had a bonus point if you found monorail avenger.

Its funny because my Wife and I sought out the Avengers monorail so we can take pics and ride on it. As for a monorail game, that sounds like it would add to the fun of Disney.

When we bought our DVC at SS they told us they where going to build a Monorail... Well 2008 and the recession hit... and next time I asked they said it was not 5 million they where going to spend... DHS great idea... but you are right not going to happen!

The monorail at SSR thing isn't necessarily that they actually planned on it anytime soon, but rather that there was an easement on the property for Disney and/or Reedy Creek to be *able* to build a monorail to/through it.

That easement dates back to pretty much the early days of WDW, and since buying into the DVC at SSR is a real estate transaction, Disney is legally bound to tell you of the existence of that easement on the property. It's just like someone selling you a house has to tell you that the neighbor behind you has an easement through part of your property to access his water supply pipes that run to his house under your yard.

Having the easement doesn't mean it *will* happen, just that it *could*.

The tram is my first ride of the day, the monorail my second. Except for buses, anything that moves me in WDW is a ride to me. (Walt understood it: 'keep the guests moving!').

I also insist on entering EPCOT via monorail, it's the only way. On my last trip, my off-site shuttle bus dropped us off in EPCOT's parking. When we went to EPCOT, every time, I took the monorail from EPCOT to the TTC, and rode it straight back to EPCOT. I'm that particular about it.

Call it mad all you want - I'm simply that much in love with the monrail and the sight it gives of EPCOT unfolding before your eyes!
