There was no requirement to be with children in order to ride with the pilot. You just had to ask.

We were able to ride in the front of the monorail, too.
I take the "L" a lot, so the monorail is luxurious in comparison. On the Red Line, I have witnessed people yelling at an invisible person, roaches crawling out of the heater, public urination on the train, practices of vigorous self love, so yeah, the monorail is pure bliss for me.
I love taking the monorail from MK into Epcot in the evening.

I loved sitting up front! I didn't know that they stopped doing it, that's so sad to hear. :/
But either way, the monorail is so magical and riding it is a must-do every trip.

I love the monorail. Just sitting there watching it whisk by. we rode up front fives years ago on our honeymoon. My wife thought it was so cool. Even got a picture in the captains chair. hopefully one day that experience will be brought back. Its the best transportation for some crazy reason, maybe it the sound of it, or the way it looks, or even the smell.

We rode in the front of the monorail numerous times. At least once or twice a trip. It seems like when we first started doing it no one else really knew about it. Then when it became more popular, you always had to wait like 2-3 monorails to get in the front. But it was worth it. So awesome.
I love the monorails. When I step on the monorail and hear the famed "Por favor..." spiel come over the loudspeaker, I know I'm at Disney. That's the one thing that makes me realize I'm there. We're staying at Bay Lake Tower in September and I am looking forward to grabbing breakfast at the Contempo Cafe and watching the monorail glide by overhead

Yes! It was awesome! Unfortunately they do not allow it anymore.
Are you sure? I've heard of people getting in there recently...perhaps I was misled?

We got to ride up front once and our driver ............ was a dud. I don't think he uttered a work unless it was and answer to a direct question. Yes or no and no chit chat.
We love the monorail. We usually stay at SoG and the monorail is the usual method to get to EPCOT or MK. We stayed at POFQ and only rode the monorail once to go to SoG for tickets. It was kinda sad

Front cab rides still happen in Disneyland, but have not happened in WDW since the accident. (And if they re-started in WDW, I'm sure there'd be a huge thread in the News & Rumors forum)

Well that's cool. I just always thought it was a child's thing.
Yeah, that is us. The monorail ride is part of the trip. We enjoy the ride.
