I heard from a friend today that he thought he saw a "Ghost" monorail with it's nose out of the service shop this mornig on his way to work. Can anyone confirm this?

There shouldn't be, as I understand it, Disney only just very recently found a suitable company with an oven big enough to produce the fiber-glass body for the new cabs, out in California. The train probably won't be ready until March, and probably be either Bronze, or more likely Maroon.

I hadn't heard the Bronze rumor before. It's hard to distinguish Bronze from Gold, but I guess they could always throw on some of the good 'ol deltas.

Maroon wouldn't be too bad. A nice, subtle tribute to the costumes.

hhmm they said it would debut in fiscal Q1 so likely before holidays. Perhaps they are behind schedule

Thats gonna be one heck of a fiberglass job, especially if the original molds are gone, might be fun trying to make a cast of an existing monorail to build the new one.

My bet is that the design still exists from the original production, and they are creating a mold that "best resembles" that design.

Or maybe they used one of those laser scanners that they use to scan models of their "mountains" for robotic bending of the rebar framework.

So, we can safely say that WDW is not contracting the construction of the new Monorail 12 pieces to Bombardier, the original Mark VI manufacturer? There may be no need to include Bombardier for this rebuild, but I bet they still have the ability to build new WDW Mark VI trains. They can still build the Mark VI train, and all they would need to do is pull out the specs from the original WDW Mark VI lot back in the late 80s/early 90s.

While Bombardier can manufacturer "most" of the M-VI train... the nose cone used by Disney is different from their official design as Disney owns nose cone design while Bombardier has the tech / general layout (as seen by the vegas M-VI trains)

Unless I really missed something they have not made any official statements about the 12th monorail, let alone give a timeline for it's return.

The Mark VI bodies were built neither by Bombardier or Disney. Advanced Technologies located in Florida manufactured them.
