Beats me.Why do you suppose Moana was visually designed for scope?

They weren't 2.00:1, they were 1.85:1 which is a theatrical aspect ratio while 2.00:1 is a TV one (popular nowadays).I mean Tangled, Encanto, Toy Story 1-3, and most other WDAS movies were boxier 2.00.1, too.
Having seen the movie myself and thinking it’s good enough to be 7.5 or 8 out of 10 film, I can agree that while Barlow and Bear tried their best, not all the songs hit, with maybe only one or two or three being good songs.Almost every early reaction from Moana 2 — even from those who liked it — have said the music is inferior to the first film and that Lin-Manuel Miranda's presence is missed. Disney REALLy should have brought him back.
I suspect the only reason they did it was to avoid backlash for firing/letting go of the people they hired to write music for when this was meant to be a Disney Plus series.
Looks like we’re off to decent-to good start with reviews for #Moana2 with a 64% on Metacritic. I will be curious to see what its Rotten Tomatoes score’ll be.
mid junk = Iger’s stock-in-tradeLooks like we’re off to decent-to good start with reviews for #Moana2 with a 64% on Metacritic. I will be curious to see what its Rotten Tomatoes score’ll be.
That too.
Disney has produced a lot of excellent material over Iger’s tenure - indeed, just over the last year.mid junk = Iger’s stock-in-trade
Well, I was hoping a little higher than that. But hey, that works for me!That too.
Though it’s now at 71% but still good enough for me.
Cool.Well, I was hoping a little higher than that. But hey, that works for me!
No no no no. We don’t know that to be certain yet. It could still stay in the 70% range.RT scores always start off higher in the beginning. The 71% will probably end up dipping into the 50's before too long
Already has on metacriticRT scores always start off higher in the beginning. The 71% will probably end up dipping into the 50's before too long
Eh.Already has on metacritic
Yeah and Frozen 2 has 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and that still did strongly.Isn't 71% kind of low for a "Disney" movie? I always thought these things were in 90% no matter what it is. Even Strange World got a 72%. The original Moana has a 92%.
That is a very tepid score (if it holds). It’s Pocohantas/Wish territory in terms of Disney animated Princess films.Isn't 71% kind of low for a "Disney" movie? I always thought these things were in 90% no matter what it is. Even Strange World got a 72%. The original Moana has a 92%.
