MNSSHP: Yay or Nay?

Big Yay. In addition to everything everyone else has already said, they have some awesome music playing in the background themed to various lands. For example, in AdventureLand, you've got Rock You Like a Hurricane, Welcome to the Jungle, and other classic rock that you can somehow justify playing there (my late father would have loved that). Guns 'N Roses might be the ONLY way I can enjoy the Swiss Family Treehouse.

As far as the characters, even the ones that can be met any other time of the year step it up a bit. Rapunzel tried to peek under my mask- "Do you have a face under there?"

Absolutely go! So much fun. Went the first time in 2012 and son and I are planning to go back this September. Just waiting on the dates to be released. It is HOT hot hot at night, but the fireworks, parade and trick or treating was a blast. Can't wait.

Absolutely yes! And if you take advantage of the fact that they'll let you into the park earlier than the party's start, I think around 4PM, that's a good 8 hours in the park with significantly shorter lines. Cheaper ticket, shorter lines, better parade, amazing fireworks? DEFINITELY DO IT!

Hello WDWMagic friends!

I have been to the World 5 times, and all 5 of the trips have been in the summer. But this year, we are considering going in September and experiencing MNSSHP. Now, I've read a lot of stuff about the party. I know that the wait times are much shorter than usual, and more of the obscure characters meet n greet with guests (i.e. Abu, The Villains, The Seven Dwarfs, Jack and Sally), plus you get a different parade, fireworks, and a Villains Mix n Mingle Show. So, the question I have... Is it worth the money? I think I should also mention that we have a DD9, and a DS13. They love to try new things, hate waiting in lines, and love meeting new characters, so I think this party would appeal to them. They're always obsessed with anything Disney.;) Also, do you guys think it is worth experiencing more than once? We are considering if we do go, we would do MNSSHP twice, but would once be enough? I would appreciate any input you have for me, and if you have any additional questions, I'll be happy to answer! Thanks!:)

When we go to WDW in the fall we try to schedule our trip if possible so that we can do two parties, mostly because we have gone before and had a monsoon like rain completely wreck one so I find it preferable to have to chances.

Yes it is worth it. The only thing that you might consider is that you might want to cut the number of days you have on your regular tickets by the days of the party. Because at party time they usually let you enter the park at 4:00pm... so depending on whether you are a rope drop visitor or more casual, you might not really need to have ticket for the park on both or one of those days if you planned on sleeping in and swimming.

Other advice is make sure if you wear costumes that they are cool. It wont be that cool there and if you make a mistake and wear too hot of costume you will pay for it in sweat. Oh, and make sure you have plenty of space for bringing home candy. One of our trips they were waiting at the exit gates and pretty much making sure your bags were filled with candy.... we had so much we ended up having to get a carry-on bag just to bring all the candy the kids had home.

Absolutely worth it for older children! Younger ones not so much! We took our almost 4 year old in September of 12' & it was hard for her to stay up even with an afternoon nap! We did enjoy the Parade & Fireworks! Trick or Treating was fun but, you could buy the same kind of candy for ALOT less money! We also got to meet the 7 dwarves which was a must for our DD.

If your kids can stay up til midnight or so, you should absolutely go.

I have been 3 or 4 times and I love it more each time.

Villains stage show, trick or treating, riding haunted mansion, seeing the characters in costume are all fun.

see the second parade if you can stay up late. I like to watch it from the Main St train station area.

Go! I went once, and it was a blast. I'd say 80% of the people were in costume (myself included). The parade is great - watched the 2nd time around although the poor headless horseman took a spill when he was riding.

Also, it's good to know in advance where the characters will be if that's your sort of thing. Ended up getting in queue quite early for the 7 dwarves
