MNSSHP Lara Croft costume with toy guns

My family is going to our first Micky's Not So Scary Halloween Party this Oct. My wife was thinking of going as Lara Croft from Tomb Raider. This costume has toy guns with it. Will security allow the toy guns in the park? I'm thinking probably no, but does anybody know for sure?

I don't know for sure, and I haven't seen the Laura Croft movies, so I don't know what her guns look like. But I do know that they sell toy guns at WDW: pirate guns, space ranger guns, western guns, etc. So they apparently haven't gotten *too* stupid with the anti-gun thing that they ban them altogether from the parks. But whether they let you bring your own in, I don't know. I'm sure alot would have to do with how real they look.

I think the toy guns have to have an orange cap/tip at the end of them to signify they are fake. Before this mandate they looked too real and even police couln't tell the difference. Double check with Guest Services. :)

For sure, their official policy is NO toy guns, swords, etc are permitted into the parties....

BUT, if they are plastic and obviously fake, security will sometimes let them slide, especially for the Halloween party...if they look at all real then they will not be permitted in no way no how....

But the official policy is that no outside toy guns, weapons or anything resembling weapons (including rope whips ala Indiana Jones) are not permitted in, even though they sell those same toys inside the park.

I've seen kids arrive with toy guns, pirate swords etc on regular old park entry days, and security often just make a joke of it and look the other way. Adults bringing those things in are a completely different story.

just so your not embarrassed later you should put a picture up of her in the costume so we can tell if its too racy or not. I'd recommend at least 8 megapixels.

but i really doubt disney would let real looking guns into the park. The guns they sell are either wooden or space aged. Nothing they sell would ever be confused with an actual gun.

"Chicken cutlets." Not to turn my nose up at the form of Angelina Jolie, but even she admits that the outfit had a bit of padding. The video game character's dimensions would make her a DD. Jolie is a C. They boosted her to a single D.

I swear, I had to research this for work. But you can find it here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0146316/trivia

I know this is an old thread, but my family went to disney world last week and went to the halloween party on Tue. Other than the rain we had a fun time at the party. My wife did go as lara croft from the movies and had no problem taking 2 toy guns in. They really looked like toys because they were blue and had the orange paint on the ends. I went as indiana jones and almost had a problem taking my whip in which wasn't even real. I got in though. My 2 year old daughter went as princess belle.

This actually surprises me a bit.... would anyone like to guess how long it would take me to paint a real weapon blue, with an orange tip? Purple & pink? Pick your color.

No - I have no intention of doing that. The point, though, is that those stupid orange tips provide NO Safety value to anyone.... and that a real thug can gain a significant time advantage by doing something like this. I would not blame WDW security in the least if they changed their policy to err on the conservative side. In the mean time, I would suggest something totally made out of wood, or styrofoam - less realistic, but hey - it's dark anyway :).

There's an ad campaign here in New York which shows two pictures of guns: 1 black and 1 red and asks the question "which is the real gun?" Of course, the real gun is the red one, painted to look fake, so I agree with you. People in general expect too much, because there is no 100% guarantee of safety. The authorities can't protect you from everything, and there is ALWAYS a way for people to cause harm.

There was a company a while back that would power coat guns, any color or pattern that you wanted.

People were all up in arms about that. (HA! that's like a pun)
