Has anyone else noticed that the desert party for MNSSHP is booked for parties of 1&2 people but open for groups of 3-8. I called to see what they could do but was told to find addional people. I know why they want bigger parties but they are somewhat shooting themselves in the foot because it's all about the numbers. If they opened up more small tables for guests they could sell out fast.

Why would they do that when they can sell out with each table having 3 or more?

Why would they do that when they can sell out with each table having 3 or more?
Because right now they have tables available for three or more so they aren't sold out. Obviously the one or two people tables are gone so if they opened up more of those they would still fill up with the same total. They would just need more tables which on the terrace would not be that big a deal. I checked this on multiple nights for the earlier September parties. Why chance filling up with larger parties when you have smaller parties willing to pay now.

Since Iger has arrived the MVMCP has risen in price during it's peak season nearly 200% from 36.95 to 113.95 and no one can tell me that the decorations or the entertainment have improved 200% in that same period of time. Good job Bob.

Anyone know the associated cost to keeping the parks open the extra hours when the price of tickets were cheaper compared to now?

Or are people going to post dated pricing just to try to fan flames? I mean a new Corvette cost 4K in 1963 a new Stingray costs over 100k now.

Jimmy Thick- People, utilities other associated costs cost something...

Happy to do the calculations in constant dollars but since there has been virtually zero inflation between 2006-2016 the values are the same.

When you make your reservation, tell them that the 3rd member of your party is a child under 3 so you will not be charged for the 3rd person on the reservation. .......or make the reservation for 3, call back and have them remove the 3rd person from your reservation. It may take up to 10 days for the credit for the additional person to be applied to your card. I used the second option when booking the Halloween dessert party and it worked without any issues.

The negativity in these boards is getting disturbing and probably scaring people off from even visiting to the parks.

This will be my 5th year attending the MNSSHP and the price increase is just expected. The park is easily half as crowded as it would normally be with the added shows and parades (they could probably update the parade) and characters you can't meet any other time. The park is filled with additional decorations and expereinces plus everyone gets to dress up, Id be happy just walking around people watching. The people complaining about the park closing early on specific dates to be honest just didn't plan their trip well... they offer full length days half the week if not more, and if they had less parties they would just be more desirable and probably more crowded and expensive and you would complain they needed more.

If its too much for you or not worth the price to you then just don't go, stop coming in these boards and just bashing it. Let people enjoy them for what they are and still see the value in it.

A. Foodrockz rulez.
B. Yeah, but a corvette was 18k in 2006, right? So it's increasing at the same rate....oh....wait....

Leave Disney alone you guys. They love me.

Boo Hoo - If you don't like the reality on this board I suggest the DELTA-INDIA-SIERRA board where no criticism of Disney is allowed.

First of all, I have always been what some would refer to as a "pixie duster." For many years, I was angered by what I saw as "Disney bashing," and felt as you do - "If you don't like it, don't go. Less crowds for me to deal with." However, it has become increasingly clear to me that the current management does not have the same pixie dust view of what these parks once were, and they don't care about many of their most loyal guests, as they are nickel and diming us right out the door. Price increases at that magnitude are not and should not be expected. I can't speak to MNSSHP, but at MVMCP the park is not "easily half as crowded" it's packed because along with the price increases they also seem to be selling more tickets.
Secondly, some of us are limited as to when we can plan our vacations. I am there Dec 11-17, and the MK will be closing early for MVMCP on the 11th, 13th, 15th, and 16th - more than half of my week long vacation.
Lastly, accepting these increases and their latest fiasco of charging $150 for what is basically EMH and not saying anything is the same as saying it's ok when it's not. Disney has people monitoring social media and fan websites such as this one. I don't "Disney bash" as it is still my favorite place, but I do want my opinion heard. Whether or not they listen is another story, but at least I know I didn't stay silent.
I'm glad for you that you still see the value in these events. I don't, and these boards are designed for EVERYONE to express their opinions.

You're basically just saying no we'd rather just complain constantly about something we're pretending to enjoy ... That's cool I guess I'll just keep enjoying the parks

If we still didn't love and enjoy the parks, we wouldn't go or care what they did. Just because you disagree with some/many decisions that are made, doesn't mean you dislike going. it's because we care very deeply that we become angry with the direction that things are going,

Maybe they will limit the attendance a bit lower this time? like a few thousand less and therefore increase the price to make up for this? Still reckon 10/31 will sell out somewhere in August..

As much as I love Disney World, being DVC and an AP holder. We go a 2-3 times a year. I just cannot justify another $200 for two people to go to MVMCP when there is no new extra benefit. We will just have a relax night instead. Plus if they have AK open later, I can go there for free.

We already pay DVC fees, AP's, DDP (for ease) and we like to buy things or do a different restaurant. We did Victoria and Alberts in May, which was just spectacular!

But for $200 for an old parade, same fireworks and some additional characters that have not changed for a hot minute, I just can't justify this year.

We went to the Halloween party last year and yes it was way too crowded. If they are raising the price then they should cut the number of tickets sold.

I always thought these parties were the best deal at WDW. In 5 hours, we could do at MK what would normally take a full day. While I certainly prefer the lower prices, I feel the prices are still fair for the value. I think the parties will still sellout for the most part.
