You don't know that for a fact as I don't know it for a fact as to why I said "probably". Lol
There were constant complaints I saw last year of folks wanting their money back and how horrible of a time they had and going to guest relations to complain so it's very very possible that played a role in the price increase. I enjoyed the parties as usual last year so don't even see why people were complaining and I was at a sold out MNSSHP as I often am and crowds to me were no different.
And regardless why they raised the prices I still enjoy the parties as does my DH so we will keep going if we are there during a party. :)
If they wanted to limit the crowds they simply just wouldn't sell as many tickets. Like the way it used to be. It was actually a limited ticketed event.

They think they can? They know they can...and even higher without any threat of not selling.

Now, the earlier parties will sell out....not always the case in the past.

And we're still in...
They don't KNOW they can. They tried Disney After Dark at $150 and took it too far. Now they'll try $100 for a 5-hour party and see if we bite. I agree with you that people will.

That $150 grand failure many are happy about....may not have been any such thing. Maybe the data showed how much price elasticity there was and it set the new prices. I'd be curious to see how many people are "relieved" they can go in September for a few dollars less. And what will become of the "low" crowds in September? TDO genius!!

Maybe these new prices look low compared the grand failure?

Oh the Disney After Dark project is certainly part of the reason for these increases. I bet they'll get 25000 bodies every night this year. Next they'll announce the premium packages.

At least the entertainment is top notch. The Halloween Party is worth it to me for the entertainment.

Just realized because I'm now DVC it'll only be $4 more/person than last year and I felt better.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)

It still is a limited ticketed event. On the sold out nights we have been through 2015 waits for rides were next to none and the crowds to us were a lot less than a normal day/night at MK. :)

Just tried to look up pricing and it started to show up and now it's missing! Maybe they've heard everyone complaining and they're gonna change it.

(I know they obviously won't, just thought it was funny. Lol)

I initially added the crying/laughing face from my phone to make it obvious I was being sarcastic, didn't realize it wouldn't show on here. Hahahahahaha. We can all dream though, right?

The parties are limited to, I think, 19,000 people. An average summer day is around 55,000. 19,000 is relatively dead compared to the daytime crowds, so I don't know what people are complaining about. Even the slowest days of the year (in September) don't have numbers that low (these days).

If they wanted to wait less than 30 seconds for a ride, they could have paid $150 for the Disney After Hours events, and yet they didn't.

While sales are "limited", the limit is much higher than 19K. It might have been 19K once upon a time, but not anymore.

The ride lines are short because no ones there for rides. They're there for characters, shows and candy.

$43 plus tax ten years ago. Most expensive option. On the night. For any night.

What's the percentage increase in a decade?

Oh.

I just went to compare the prices for this year's MVMCP to what we paid in 2014. In 2014 with the DVC discount we paid 66 $ per person including taxes. The same night in 2016 with the DVC discount would be 95 $ per person including taxes. In my book this is nearly a 50% increase in two years. I expected prices to be higher, but this crazy??
