MNSSHP - Adult Costumes

The family is going to the MNSSHP in September and we would all like to be in costume. DS is going as Indiana Jones, DD will be dumbo (she loves elephants). I will most likely be a vampire, but wifey wants to be tink. The problem that we see is that most of the adult womens costumes are a little bit on the "adult" side and may not be appropriate.

Any thoughts?

Looks like a great site, thanks MasterYoda.

Hey guys, i'm going to MNSSHP Oct 2nd, with my 1 year old daughter. She's going to be Cinderella. Wife is trying to convince me to be Prince Charming. Let's say i give in, because let's face it, i'd do anything for her... Am i going to be in the minority as far as an adult dressed up? I'm not typically the type to dress up, but for this event and for my daughter, i'm considering it. Will I be a laughing stock?

You will not be in the minority. I dress up every year and would not have it any other way. For extra style points decorate your stroller to look like Cinderella's carriage and every woman in the park will be in love with you and insanely jealous of your wife.

Here is a picture of me and the family from 2007.

When I went last year, I saw several "French Maid's" wandering around the the Magic Kingdom. Thankfully they were very pleasing on the eyes. If not I would have had to complain, but yes, you do see some "adult" costumes now and then.

MNSSHP is a great time, I would say about 50% of the people in the park dress up.

Having worn wings to MNSSHP, I can tell you it's really a pain in the butt. You have to keep taking them on and off to get into and out of attractions and rides and you tend to smack people with them or people smack into them for you. That would be my only hesitancy against a Tink costume.

If you do wear wings, make sure they're small, flexible and not easily damaged. (Or if they are, that they're inexpensive and you don't mind them getting ruined.) I wore a beautiful pair of feathered ones and the poor things took a beating.

DO dress up though - it really makes it so much fun.

Absolutely not. You will get so many oohs and ahhs with a setup like that.

What about Figment? :lookaroun

Anyway, since my birthday falls around mid-September, we may try to go to the party. So I am also thinking of something unique now...

But not exactly over the top, now...

I'm hoping to get a ton of pics this year since I'm going as Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2. I'll be carrying Mickey's Keyblade so I can get pics with him holding it. I'll be attending the October 2nd party..which is also my B-day!!

I decided to make mine - mostly because every costume I have looked at and though yes turned out to be sold out. I'm gonna go as Belle, using a crisp white shirt, and using the dorothy pattern from wizard of oz, to make her dress, then gonna whip up a apron. My DH is going as mickey mouse, using a HP robe pattern, as they are basically the same and putting a yellow dressing gown cord around the waist. will be at the sept 15th party and hopefully this time will get to go to the whole party. (i got bitten on my eyelid last year and ended up leaving early cos my eye was so itchy and sore. :()
