Martin,

Will MK retire the name "MM&Y" or will it return??

As for Castle Dream Lights, I've haven't seen an install date. Is there one(I hope) for this year???

It isn't really the same. The beauty of the LED dreamlights is that they are themselves the light emitters - you are looking at the source. This gives the intensity and shimmering effect. You cannot achieve this with a projection, as you are not looking at the source of the light.

I agree and think the dreamlights are amazing. However I could imagine they are a maintenance nightmare not to mention the cost of installing and removing them. Perhaps they will use the dream lights budget for a LoW replacement instead. I would trade the dreamlights for a new LoW.

Another benefit would be no crane next to the castle twice a year. Once the FLE opens the crane will really cause sightline problems. Those new projectors provide a lot of solutions potentially.

Just my opinion.

This sounds good, as I really liked MMY better than I thought I would, hope it doesn't replace Dreamlights though.

I have heard good things about the Paris show that uses MMY style projections along with other things. Would this be bringing our show closer to theirs or?

The great thing about Dreams! as compared to MM&Y is that Dreams! has a story to it which connects all the different things they show. MM&Y to me always felt a bit "lazy", it was just a collection of fancy technology with very little heart that connects it. To be fair, both have a different purpose as Dreams! is the main evening show (and has additional elements with water, fireworks and lasers and of course the star!) while MM&Y is only a pre-show. But then if you look at the Pixar films, they are a perfect expample that even a pre-show can have a lot of heart!

Yes the but the cost to replace the high intensity bulbs in the projectors would be astronomical if you had to have them on all night every nights for two and a half months....

This does not make me happy. We were looking forward to seeing this show next month. We always enjoy it. I hate when they decide to close things and only give 3 weeks notice.

Excellent news.

The show is spectacular already, and I can't wait to see what it looks like with these improvements. I would be pleased as Pluto if they removed the guest pictures. That was always the least impressive part of the show for me.

Maybe you guys were already thinking this, but I am suprised that no one has mentioned the possibility of incorporating the new glowing Mickey ears into the show. From everything that I have seen on the Disney Blog, the mickey ears would only needs various RFID transmitters set-up in an area to make it work with any particular show. I don't necessarily think that this is necessary , but it would be nice if they took this oppurtunity incorporate this technology at MK.

I, admitedly, was very leary of this whole concept. After our visit this past October - we thought it was amazing. Turning the castle into a projection was very cool. Looking forward to the reworking and hiding of the projectors.

Can we presume this is the result of the "what's-his-face is working on a new show" rumors from a few months ago?

I remember a mild buzz coming from that. Speculation about a replacement for Wishes or Illuminations.

Highly doubt Steve Davison is behind this...

This is good news...

This is one of the better things Disney has added in a few years. Getting ride of the stupid memories portion and incorporating this into a fireworks show as well is what will take this to the next level. An area I am very optimistic Disney can do great things in...

MM&Y was pretty good... Hopefully the new show will be just as good, actually, BETTER...

BTW, has Disney released this info yet??? I didn't see it on the parks blog... Not that I am doubting Steve and Marni.. :)
