Think it was worth the price?

I’m ok with Soroka leaving. The Braves gave him a chance and I really wanted him back. But, it’s not working out that way.
I’m the same….his value was a starter “as needed” …. Problem with that was at least two-fold as he wasn’t an inning eater as well as justifying a roster spot…with roster spots being hard to come by

While the trade was for bullpen help, it was an obvious purge to clear roster spots…

Chicago received a pitcher (Soroka)that at least has value at the trade deadline….

Jared Schuster might pan out…

Wow

Missed this one

Kyle Wright dealt….so much promise as a frontline starter for the next decade

Yeah, I don’t like the Wright trade. AA has done well through his few years in Atlanta though. Time will tell if this was another good move.

Rumors running wild on Talk Radio in ATL….supposedly ALL moves were made to free roster spots AND more importantly to clear salary…..a BIG $$$$ signing is coming

With that said, one of the names was Aaron Nola (resigned earlier this week with Philly)so take it for what it is worth

Peter Angelos and group who bought the Orioles 30 years ago for $173M are going to get huge ROI if they sell the team which is worth over $1B today.

No. The State of Maryland owns Camden Yards. They had negotiated a deal to renew their lease, but they haven't officially signed it yet.

It is my opinion that the team won't be sold until after Peter Angelos dies because of the tax consequences. Unfortunately.
Got it

Was wondering what the Orioles’ Market value would be…. Teams owning their home Stadium have the largest Market value…

That is why the Dallas Cowboys have such a high $$$ tag as the team owns Jerry World as well

Yeah, they don't own their stadium.

The biggest issue with why they've been holding onto the team is that the team is worth 10x what it was when it was bought, so they'd be hit with a big capital gains tax if they sold before Peter Angelos dies.

Of course, he is 94 and out of it, so they might know that he doesn't have much longer at this point.

ohtani signed a 10 year $700 million deal with the dodgers. that’s just insane.
He doesn't even have to move to another house if he doesn't feel like it. LA traffic is a nightmare. When my family lived in Newport Beach, they used to see Kobe Bryant and his family attend mass regularly at the local Catholic church. Kobe would use a helicopter to get to downtown LA on a daily basis for a quicker commute. Ohtani could also do the same to get to Dodger stadium. He's a very rich eligible bachelor.
